That smart people *still* give billions of dollars to charismatic bullshitters with a Jesus complex. Stunning. Wife and I watched 'WeWork: Or the Making and the Breaking of a $47 Billion Unicorn' last night and she casually mentions she saw Andrew Neumann (co-founder and CEO of BS for WeWork) speak at a conference in DC many years ago (it is briefly shown in the doc) and everyone seemed into it and excited but no one really knew how a company that essentially leases office space was the next big thing in 'tech' (spoiler: it wasn't). Not recommended if you don't want to be infuriated at millenials who think they're going to change the world and get rich just by saying it. But, fascinating and weirdly satisfying to watch it all crumble.
Still, this wonk walked away with a nearly $2bn payout. So, bullsh*t still pays, as long as you are the king of it.
