I was at that game. The Adam Taliferro game. It was over before it ever started.Crazy. I recall running into a PSU coach the day before they played Miami. The coach said point blank that Miami would roll us. And they did. That was a crazy talented team.
They also broke every NCAA rule in the books. My buddies who worked at Miami felt like parole officers.
As Joe said ‘it’s not difficult to win football games, it’s difficult to win with student-athletes’.
Am I correct in remembering that Dave Benfatti started at linebacker for us in that game?I was at that game. The Adam Taliferro game. It was over before it ever started.
I don’t remember that specifically. All I could find was this roster chart. Toles is listed as the starter and I remember thinking he was pretty good, but I feel like he was frequently dinged up.Am I correct in remembering that Dave Benfatti started at linebacker for us in that game?
Adam running out was awesome. That was where we lost our best linebacker.I was at that game. The Adam Taliferro game. It was over before it ever started.
Didn’t Toles have Crohn’s disease or something like that where he could never keep on any weight.I don’t remember that specifically. All I could find was this roster chart. Toles is listed as the starter and I remember thinking he was pretty good, but I feel like he was frequently dinged up.

I don’t remember. Maybe? That stinks if so. That disease sucks.Didn’t Toles have Crohn’s disease or something like that where he could never keep on any weight.
I think Toles had some sort of chronic disorder that only allowed him to play a specific amount of snaps a game. Can’t remember the disorder though.Didn’t Toles have Crohn’s disease or something like that where he could never keep on any weight.
