Daughter was off from school so I thought it might be fun for her to see the Yayoi Kusama exhibit at the Hirshhorn. It’s a gorgeous day too - and since the exhibit is limited and you have to get tickets, we show up at 9:30 only to find out the museum is closed on Mondays. And - the Air & Space is temporarily closed too (looks like major renovations). So, we opt for a stroll through the National Gallery of Art where I show her all the Degas, Van Gogh, and Monet in the impressionist wing and she’s just delighted. I feel like this is the most underrated museum in DC - it’s gorgeous.

We end the morning with sno cones and a beverage in the Sculpture Garden and it feels like I’m at Luxembourg Gardens in Paris.

Anyway - love the warmer weather and everything it brings.

I used to take a date and get gyros in Georgetown and go to Jefferson memorial after midnight. Lived in Roslyn at the time. They fell for it every time. Awesome view and gyros. That dates were good as well.

Nice. I'm planning on seeing the Laurie Anderson exhibit in July.

That’s the thing about the National Gallery, it’s got everything. It’s the only museum in the United States with a Leonardo, for example. Hey, @Midnighter, I expect you and your daughter saw “Daniel in the Lion’s Den,” by Rubens. Did you notice that all the lions are identical? Lol. And it’s FREE. A national treasure.
