I missed the part where it says he owns a dealership.

We lock down Franklin Chrysler Jeep Dodge of State College yet? ;)

I love his little "aw shucks" smirk when starting up the car

A new one for his players who want one. Free of charge.
Ferrari production is ungodly low. And you must buy a new Ferrari from a dealer within your residential zip code unless you live outside a certain radius, something like 100 miles. Celebs and athletes are not exempt. Long waiting lists, and you usually have to own at least one Ferrari to get on the list. Totally different buying experience.

Saban has had no problem circumventing rules. I'm sure he can find a way.

It seems like a lot of fuss but isn't that the point with this stuff? To feel special? Also, why not buy from a private seller? Or does Ferrari control that too?

You can . Gets a little dicier . Main thing is all the service stamps in the book from the Ferrari dealership. No restrictions on preowned even at dealerships . If a valuable preowned price is jacked up over the sticker , maybe way over .
Service costs are big . They don’t move a lot of cars since not many produced. So service department has to ring the bell . If you save a few bucks going on your own but mechanical issues , you hosed yourself .
Boys in your neighborhood can confirm what I’m saying .

Let me put it in terms the Rick can understand . So if your VW dealer says you want a new GTI. Ok cool , but you need to buy this used Jetta and that Quantum over there. Then you need to add $20k in options . It will be 3 years , and 5k down now .
They even wanted Leno to buy two **** Mondials to get a new build slot .
When Ferrari dealers were forced to buy Maserati franchises to keep their dealerships. The boys weren’t too happy . The Maseratis just sat . They would give you the wink , and say buy one of these and we can get you thst Ferrari .
You heard him mention the $25k envelope ? Sometimes you have to pay under the table to get a car cause they’re not allowed to sell new over sticker . Just cause you got money doesn’t mean you like the beat down .

Yeah, my friend has a half dozen or so - guess if I’m ever in the market I’ll hit him up for tips… :).

In the 90’s was down at Sebring for the 24 hours . Had the owner of Ferrari in Sterling ( I’d gather this is your nearest dealer) drive me and our party out for dinner in a rental sedan . One scary white-knuckle ride. I believe he has since sold it.
My wife let me buy whatever 3 rd car I wanted, but couldn’t get to 4. Maybe next lifetime.

Had a 355 F1, 550 Maranello , and 360 spider . Loved the cars , but bitter taste from the dealer experience.
Yo you’re thinking dudes buying Ferraris don’t have bottomless pockets 25k cost of doing business, it’s like me buying 2 miller 30 packs instead of 1

Are you close with any ultra-high-net-worth individuals? On occasion, they spend money like its tap water. But more often than not they want a deal because they think they are special. And they can dig their heels in on cheapness.

That suv is my FAVORITE. My builds would be Daytona Gray. Just built a LOADED 24 for a paltry 69.5k Rolling into the electric era with an epic 5 cylinder would be special. 3.6 to 60 stock

Given his collection, I doubt that Leno is missing out anything.

I mean, sure, but he is - he's missing out on a Ferrari. I know Jay has an impressive collection, but Ralph Lauren's is more valuable (he has half the cars Jay has but they're worth 5 x as much...). First pic is of Lauren's 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO, which is worth about $50mm.

Looks like the Sultan of Brunei probably has the most valuable car collection . Ralph is pretty strong . Maybe #2 . $300/350 mill . Often has some sweet rides at Pebble Beach .
