I would not be the least surprised if there was collusion. The CFP, like the other bowl games, is a made for TV event. ESPN is the biggest player in that made for TV event, so they get a say.
Was there anybody who actually thought that this was an honest game? Really?
Would not be surprised if the results were leaked to certain media cretins beforehand. Not the same as collusion.

The Mecheatagin fans have developed a persecution complex. Now it's ESPN and the playoff committee out to get them. It's also lining up nicely as an excuse for them when they get blown out by Alabama.

Rece was making it way too dramatic by constantly referencing the graphics guy entering the bracket into the machine. You keep saying it that you have no idea what it is until you first see it pop up on the screen is pushing it.

IIRC, they are the ones paying for this party - at least for the most part - to the tune a hundreds of millions per year.
Forget "collusion", or "advance notice" - Why wouldn't they get to pick the teams they want? Just pick the teams they want. That would only seem right and fair. (I am not claiming they do that... just saying it would be perfectly reasonable to have them do it)
It is not like there was ever any way to make that "Pick 4 Teams" system "work". There never has been, never will be (and, obviously, no one will even try anymore).
Of course, gong to 12 will be an even bigger nightmare (because then it is not just "who gets in", but also who gets a bye, who gets a home game, etc etc). It will be an even bigger cluster.
But its all about the money, obviously, and 11 games leads to more $$$ than 7 + a couple "bowl" games (at least for a while)
