For better or worse really revitalized and modernized the horror genre for literature. I never really read many of her books, but you can see the influence her world building had on the many works that followed - Buffy, Twilight, True Blood, Vampire Diaries, etc.

Touching tribute from her son, Chris. She was 80.

Yes, for better or for worse. I tried to read her, couldn’t.
I should clarify that I know people who loved her work. She wasn’t a sloppy or bad writer. I just didn’t dig her writing.

It’s like my view of Don DeLillo. I got through “Underworld” and will never again read anything by him.

I liked a lot of her stuff but thought the Vampire Chronicles went on too long. The Mayfair Witch Series is pretty good as well.
I think AMC is rebooting Interview with the Vampire. Should be interesting.
