First thing a new owner (Bezos?) should do is change the name.
The issue of where they’re going to play 10 years from now is unsettled and will likely turn very messy. This is one incentive for Snyder to sell, as nobody wants to work with him. If he keeps the team he won’t have an easy time finding somewhere to play; a new owner would find the sailing considerably smoother. So, no, not buying the team. You gonna buy 'em?

If I hit the PowerBall I'll buy them and change the name to the DC Gridlock.

DC Thieves.A few options:
Washington Redskins
Washington Corrupters
DC Un-United
On a down payment. Washington is a storied franchise in a prime east coast market. I think the Broncos sale price is in the ballpark of what they’ll fetch. I’m thinking at least $3.5 billion. You’d still be a couple billion short
Tell me about it.Two Happiest Days in a NFL owners life is the Day you Buy the team and the Day you Sell the Team!
Man, can Elon Musk buy them please?! I know @LionJim wouldn’t like it, but it would be so funny to watch. Just think of the memes! Washington Fighting Teslas!
An NFL franchise or Prem Club is the ultimate status symbol among the world’s elite.Bezos can afford it, I guess.
Bloomberg or Bezos would be an upgrade from Snyder. Hell, Michael Felli would be an upgrade. Bezos isn’t going to sell the Post, though.Jeff Bezos May Sell Huge Business to Buy The Washington Commanders - TheStreet

According to this ... https://www.forbes.com/sites/mikeoz...t-valuable-sports-teams-2022/?sh=73481a67385c ... the most valuable EPL club is #19 on the list, behind 12 NFL clubs, 3 NBA clubs, 2 La Liga Clubs and 1 MLB club. There's only 3 more EPL clubs in the top 50. 30 NFL clubs make the list. 7 NBA. 5 MLB. 4 EPL (and 4 from other professional soccer leagues). An NFL franchise or Prem Club is the ultimate status symbol among the world’s elite.
Coulda fooled me. Nice research. This board straightens out a lot of misconceptions.According to this ... https://www.forbes.com/sites/mikeoz...t-valuable-sports-teams-2022/?sh=73481a67385c ... the most valuable EPL club is #19 on the list, behind 12 NFL clubs, 3 NBA clubs, 2 La Liga Clubs and 1 MLB club. LOL. That’s a point of view. Let’s see what Man Utd sells for. It’s going to lap that $5B estimate by a large margin. My guess is north of $7B and that will be driven by status not necessarily intrinsic value.According to this ... https://www.forbes.com/sites/mikeoz...t-valuable-sports-teams-2022/?sh=73481a67385c ... the most valuable EPL club is #19 on the list, behind 12 NFL clubs, 3 NBA clubs, 2 La Liga Clubs and 1 MLB club. I'm pretty sure every pro sports org that is sold goes for a price well above the typical valuation you'd get from a source like Forbes.LOL. That’s a point of view. Let’s see what Man Utd sells for. You’re going to have a Middle East nation’s sovereign fund step in and buy it.
Wouldn't it be a conflict of interest for an owner of a media content provider to also own a team, especially when broadcast contracts are being decided? Maybe it doesn't work the way I think. The NFL might have rules about this, dunno.Wouldn't it be a conflict of interest for an owner of a media content provider to also own a team, especially when broadcast contracts are being decided? Maybe it doesn't work the way I think. I'm sure Grim Reaper will clue me in.
Does the Washington Post broadcast games? I think that would be more of an issue than a newspaper. But, I can see your point.Wouldn't it be a conflict of interest for an owner of a media content provider to also own a team, especially when broadcast contracts are being decided?
