I was disappointed in the selections. 3 east coast cities within a few hours of each other. Two Texas cities. But large swaths of the Rockies, the mid-Atlantic, and Midwest arent anywhere near a host site.Seemed taking away one Texas site and one east coast site could’ve allowed for Denver and Cincinnati and had much better coverage for the entire country. Also, shame on Chicago for screwing this up, that was the obvious location to solve this but they didnt bid (allegedly based on not getting financial detail - aka they couldn’t figure out how they were going to line corrupt peoples pockets in advance)

FWIW, It’s much better for teams and fans that are flying over to have venues closer together rather than having them traveling longer distances from venue to venue.

I guess I don’t see why it’s much better for a team to have a 2 hour bus ride or 30 minute flight from Philly to New York, versus a 2 hour flight from Philly to Cincinnati. Seems entirely negligible.

Anyone else hearing the rumor that Robert Kraft financially bought the World Cup games to Gillette Stadium? Sounds like Gillette Stadium was not on the final listing, and M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore/Washington was.

Wasn't the financial benefit to FIFA the expected criterion on which selection would be based?
