my son was on the tarmac for 2.5 hours for his Delta flight back to Columbus Ohio the day after the Peach Bowl in ATL. Apparently, the captain got into a verbal disagreement with having to get the plane deiced. ATL didn't plan well enough and there was a looong wait to get deiced and the captain kept telling the tower that it wasn't cold enough to warrant deicing. They kept the plane at the end of the line until it was resolved. The plane was deiced but the captain made a point of telling the passengers that it was caused by the air traffic controllers requiring a "needless" deicing. The pilot was still steaming as the passengers deplaned.
