Actually I guess I am... I'm presuming from your comment that the night is already scheduled (presuming MLB) and of course, no way we're a night game under those circumstances. I seem to recall that until yesterday the game was TBD and now is scheduled at the worst possible football watching time. I'm also guessing I'm mistaken in all that, cuz it sounds like you know facts i don't. As such, please fill us in. TIA. [Not being snide... I really don't know the facts.]
I apologize for my last comment, it came across more harshly than I intended.
The tv situation is determined by a selection process involving FOX and ABC alternating first choice of games on each weekend throughout the season. FOX has the first choice and they always choose the weekend of the Ohio State/Michigan game. FOX puts their game in the 12:00 noon slot.
ABC has the second choice and always puts their game in the 7:30 prime time slot. Most years ABC chooses the weekend of the biggest PSU home game (which is almost always OSU or UM in alternating years). That becomes the white out game. Last year was the exception when ABC chose the Auburn/PSU weekend with their second selection, hence the whiteout.
This year, FOX chose the OSU/UM weekend with their first pick. ABC then chose the Notre Dame - Ohio State weekend with the second pick which became their 7:30 pm game that first weekend.
That put FOX with the third pick and they chose the PSU/OSU weekend with the that pick, thus pretty much guaranteeing the noon kick off because FOX always puts their big game at noon.
It didnt matter whether PSU won or lost yesterday. I guess it was "officially" announced last week that the OSU game would be a noon kick, but it was pretty much understood by all three parties (FOX, PSU, and OSU) that the game would be a noon kick since sometime last spring or summer.
So, when ABC chose the weekend of 10/22 to have the first selection that day, it was pretty much a lock that would be the whiteout at 7:30 against MN.
