I have to wonder if he's waiting for an LSU offer.

JR should hate this line: " <span class="storybody">Conner would like to keep his <span style="font-weight: bold;">pad level lower</span> and is also working on his side-to-side movement and footwork."</span>

and if we finish strong (as in grab say 75% of the prospects who the gurus think we have a good shot at), this is the type of class that could bag an SEC West Title before they graduate.

I think you will see us sign a very very very strong class this year, especially if we go to another bowl game.

and would like to go out of state, BUT at the same time hasn't gotten the offer. Fishy for sure.

LSU already has 2 4-star RB's committed for the 09 class. I doubt they take a third.

According to Rosebowl,

We are option 1 with Bumphis(4*) right now, but it's close. He and Russell have gotten pretty close.

We are option 1 with Josh Boyd(4*).

We will sign Deonte Skinner from Noxubee County and the talk is that when Skinner commits, that'll make Pat Patterson(4*) go with him. I've heard they want to play together. Who knows.

Cody Green(5* QB) expresses true interest in MSU.

Rivals top 100 player Fletcher Cox (4*DE) has us way out in front.

Could be a pretty good class and the guys I listed are all on track to qualify.

What if we revert back to the customary 3 wins?</p>

We will win more than 3 games this year. Our schedule sets up great for us</p>

in the prospects for this class and the last 4. This class has more serious prospects in it than the last 4 combined. I see your 75% result and raise you by saying that if Croom signs 50% of the prospects, this class will surpass all expectations that would have been remotely possible following a bowl win. The staff deserves credit for being in on these prospects. For the first time in 5 years of Croom, I see talent, real talent, being attracted. Talent, my boys, overcomes a lot of subpar coaching and schemes. Exhibit A = Bobby Bowden.

I would like to see if a real QB makes any difference in the play calling. I'm not holding my breath but it's possible.

would hopefully give Croom courage to expand risk in play calling. Croom is the type that has to see, touch, taste and smell good QB decision-making. Otherwise, he handcuffs the play-calling. Hopefully a quality QB (read, more intelligent than Omarr, but with similar athleticism) will result in expanded, more creative play-calling and more freedom to create, without the fear of 6 picks ala Henig. If you haven't seen or heard Russell, get ready. I think Russell could be a real gem.

Croom handcuffs everything he doesn't completely believe in. Exhibit A: punting. Croom will take a 30 yard sideline punt with no return every day and twice on Saturday until we can kick it deep and run and cover it. McAdams isn't shanking. He's following instructions.

Agreed. But I think that's what makes him a pretty good coach. I mean, last year, we didn't have the talent to win 8 games... especially against Auburn at Auburn, KY at KY, and play with TN like we did. However, I've seen several adjustments that Croom has made that makes the other team play our game... Bend but don't break style of play. I'll take a 30 yard sideline punt all day over a 57 yarder that they return for either a TD or the other side of the field. Now, if he can only be convinced about this offense... haha

<span class="storybody">"I am glad they are all coming," said Tyler. "It let's me know I am a good quarterback and that people are interested in me. It's really a lot of motivation for me. I can go to State and play against all of these teams that didn't show me a lot of interest in the beginning. I am really looking forward to it."</span>

Exactly. It gets worse with a lead. He'll throw the ball 40 times when we're getting blown out, but scrap the passing game as soon as we get a lead (see Arkansas '08, or any game we won).

now that they have offered. Amazing that LSU can just get damn near whoever they want, regardless of university ties and loyalties.

Have you seen Russell's video on Blitz's front page? The very first pass he threw I said, holy **** what an arm. He was accurate with his passes also. Of course it is a highlight video, but he looks like the next step forward in our improvement.

It's going to take more than one 7-5 season capped with a win over a CUSA team to convince me that Croom is a good coach. Especially after what we saw his first 3 seasons.</p>

I think that's because Croom knows we aren't talented enough to sustain a passing oriented offense for 60 minutes. Even though we won eight games last year, we still have basically no playmakers. Hopefully that will change next year with Elliot and Green. But yes, when we get a lead, we sit on it. And I think that's a damn good decision by Croom.
