1. After literally YEARS of telling everyone that Ron Polk WAS MSU baseball, Gene folded like a cheap suit in the showdown between Byrne (along with most MSU fans) and Polk.
2. I particularly savored the irony of Polk saying that Byrne was an outsider, implying that he wasnt a true bulldog.....when Polk's actions and comments CLEARLY show that Polk wasnt a MSU Bulldog at this core, he was a POLK guy. As long as Polks Priorities and MSU's Priorities happened to coincide, Polk was happy to travel the same road with MSU. When MSU had different priorities than Polk cronyism, Polk jetisoned MSU like someone gets rid of yesterday's paper.
3. Cohen hiring was just as big as Saban's hiring. MSU took one of the top coaches in the Conference away from a sister school who was willing to open the pocket book to keep him.....The only difference is that baseball isnt as big as football.
4. if Cohen fails, it doesnt make Polk less of jerk and an embarrassment. You can be right and still be an immense disloyal jerk. Neither does it rehabilitate Polk, althought I am sure his appologists (and yes they are still out there amazing as it seems to me) will think it does.
5. Lastly if you thought Polk was a good choice for AD at any point in the last 15 years (since his NCAA madness started, which I always was a clear indication of his being loyal to POLK and not MSU) then please consider yourself a sheep and pause re-read your take on anything MSU related, before hitting the enter key in the future.
