2017 Rose Bowl Film Study

See Link. Sooo we were hoping some Utah All-22 would have "fallen off the back of a truck" in the past few weeks, but unfortunately no luck. So instead we grabbed the coaches' film from the 2017 Rose Bowl and had Codutti break down Godwin's 9-catch, 187-yard, 2 TD performance. We have a lot of old film, so if there's an iconic PSU performance/play from the past that might make for a good breakdown let us know.

The one play I still remember is at the end McSorley had Godwin streaking down the right sideline and just had his pass broken up by the USC defender by inches. Great play by USC but that would have won it for the Nits in dramatic fashion.

Explain why this guy Is only coaching at the high school level?
Lots guys like him out there, explaining what happened. It’s the guy who can do it before the snap that matters

now go back and look at the pros on that field besides Godwin, hamilton 40% of the OL ( Bates, McGovern) a pro bowl RB w one sitting on the bench. TE off the top of my head.

The play I remember from that game was in the 3rd quarter (I think). It was 3rd down and USC had the ball. The USC QB threw the ball it was deflected and a USC player caught the deflection for the 1st down. If that ball falls to the ground USC is forced to punt. After the deflection for a 1st down USC scored a touchdown.

This play from the Pinstripe Bowl is one I’ll always remember because MaconNitt & I were sitting in the outfield section and I called it.
