Can’t wait to see what the SEC has planned for MSU in 2026 after the shafting this year and next. Going to take some real thought to one up these two years.

What site is that from?

Not even close to the final SOS numbers being reported by ESPN.

Georgia is #1 on that one. Michigan is #7.

What do y'all think about Bo Bounds advocating for State to drop the USM game? Now this am he says drop AzSt next year too.

Meh, I like playing USM considering their current plight. I'd much rather play both games than replace them with a swac opponent or similar.

I wish we spent as much effort into hiring good coaches and recruiting good players as we do into dropping mediocre teams because we're scared of losing.

Good grief, this is getting ridiculous. Bo must be out of content.

I wonder if ESPN weights it diffrently for their TV network benefits? Not sure

Q: If MS State had stacked the box, would we have won against AZ State???

Dunno, but I’ve never heard of that website. The link you posted also was before the conference championships were played, so that’s a glaring flaw right off the bat.

The only things you can really toy around with in SOS rankings are how much weight you give to home field advantage, and how you treat FCS games. But with either you should not come out with crazy deviations between valid models.

What do you expect when you play three of the top 5 teams and four of the top 12. Still no excuse for only winning two games.

Out of curiosity, I looked at ESPN's SOS numbers over the past fifteen years to see where 2024 stacked up with other seasons. In '09, '13, '15, '19, '20, and '22, MSU's SOS was Top 15 nationally and top half of the SEC. And in three of those seasons ('09, '20, and '22) the SOS was Top 5 in the nation.

So Mullen had a stupid hard schedule in his first year, and he went 5 - 7 with wins over Vandy, Kentucky, and a ranked Ole Miss team.

Leach had a stupid hard schedule in his first year and had to deal with all the COVID insanity, too, and he went 4 - 7 with wins over LSU, Vandy, Mizzou, and ranked Tulsa team.

Leach had another stupid hard schedule two years later, and he had State go 8 - 4 (and 4 - 4 in the SEC) with wins over ranked A&M and Ole Miss teams.

Lebby had a stupid hard schedule in his first year and he went 0-fer in the SEC and had one win over an FBS school (2 - 10 UMass).

Whoever signed the contract for us to go to H'burg needs to be tarred and feathered.

he's never had any content. he sucks. I listened to him for 37 minutes last week on the way to work and not a single sports related minute.

Man...line up a schedule like that and we do nothing with it. Should be in the playoffs running that sort of schedule.
