Damn, what a catch. That would have been a hell of a way to start off our first super

If she had pulled that ball at all it would've been way over the fence.

if our fans had better softball IQ, they would’ve caught that ball instead of bailing and giving the CF the opportunity. Once that ball crosses the plane of the fence, it’s fair game. Even if it’s called interference, no real loss because it’s an out anyway.

Fans gotta do better….

So, fans should have risked interfering with the catch, not having any idea if she was going to make the catch or not?

If that happened and interference was the reason for the out without any idea if she makes the catch, do you think the person committing interference would be seen as having a high softball IQ??

I thought the appropriate response here would be...we need to fire Cohen and the entire coaching staff. Henderson, cannizaro, and McMahon would have been able to coach the hitter to pull that ball.

Absolutely! You make sure you're not reaching over the fence and if she hits you, it's not interference. Yes, it's a judgement call by the umpire, but the rule is clear. If you're not reaching over the fence, it's not interference. Obviously, if we're playing defense, you give the fielder every opportunity to catch the ball.

Zona coach spouting off an impressive string of sports cliches in that interview.

Seems like every RBI chance we have is a popup or easy fly ball. Wish we would put some pressure on their defense.

Would have been really nice if Mia had been one spot higher in the order so that HR would have come with 2 on base and 2 outs in the inning before.

Going to have to dig deep if we want to win this one.

Zona opens the 6th with a homer and a double.

Wow, what a play by our SS. DP on a ball that looked headed for an RBI single up the middle.

Damn that was great.

Diving catch on a ball that went right over the pitcher's glove, and then she crawls to tag the base for the DP.

If we win this game, that play by the SS is the play of the year.

Wasn't bad base running because off the bat looked like a single up the middle. Heck of a play.

I actually thought it was runner interference with our catcher trying to make a catch. 17ing Blue

Yep, that call could easily decide the game. I don't know the exact rule. There was contact between our catcher and the hitter after the ball was bunted but it had no effect on the play.

It was the right call and Arizona was right to challenge. It wasn't intentional, but it was interference.

Almost looked like she was extremely slow out of the box to make sure the catcher couldn't get to the ball.

That was what happened but that's not what they were looking for. They were looking for contact. I thought that a player trying to make a play on a ball could not be impeded by the runner but I guess I was wrong

That first runner should've been a strike out 17 ump wouldn't call a strike on the outside part of the plate and then gave them runners on first and second with no outs the Arizona team needs to buy him dinner

Now we're stuck with our weakest pitcher unless we bring back Annie. We better put up some runs.
