So state alum here first time organizing a tailgate for the Texas A&M game. We’re in Tupelo driving down. Gunna do the setup thing on Friday at 4 looking to get a spot somewhere near Barnes and noble so we’re in the mix but not in the pit (the junction). What time would yall recommend showing up on Saturday? How early does it kick off or should we be there to hold our spot? Any other advice on the plan so far or advice I might need of something I’ve missed? Thanks in advance dudes 🔔 🐶

Find a friend who has a tailgate & see if you can go to that one. Bring something of course. Doing it yourself just sounds like way too much trouble.

Where are you parking? My thought has always been if you can’t have 4 hours of tailgating after setup/teardown time is removed not worth the hassle, but I’m generally the one who has to do most of the work.

Around 1100 Saturday they'll start closing streets off, so get all your stuff dropped off well before then.

Do not leave anything of high value out overnight. The green space west of B&N and south of Boost is a good spot. Pick a spot nearest a road for loading/unloading purposes. You can probably get a good spot at 10 on Saturday morning. Compared to 10 years ago, our tailgating atmosphere has declined.

Yeah listen to greenbean. Unfortunately i had too much to drink after a game and wasn’t going to load all our stuff up. Got back at 6am next day to our tent only. Generator, tv, rotten chicken i was too drunk to cook, cowbells, etc were gone. Been about 12 years though now. **Prob a lot more trustworthy people**

if you're in Starkville Friday, look for any spot not already occupied by a tent. (People lay their tents on the ground to stake claim to space ahead of the 4pm set up rule). At 4pm Set up your tent. I leave table and chairs too. Nobody has stolen mine yet.

Saturday, I get back to campus well ahead of road closure (3hours before kickoff) to drop off tv, satellite, coolers food etc.

As someone said, if you can setup near where you park is best. However i dont. I just wait out the two hours post game for the roads to open and load my stuff up. There will be good 6pm games to watch.
