Five-star planning to be in Columbia this weekend
The South Carolina Gamecocks are set to host a five-star visitor for their home opener this weekend against Furman.
Gonna rain tooHosting a 5 star at the Furman game seems like a weak effort. Atmosphere probably won't be great for a game against Furman.
He’s been to USC several times and loves the city. He’s a 2025 guy, so I’m sure there will be several other games he’s going to come to.Hosting a 5 star at the Furman game seems like a weak effort. Atmosphere probably won't be great for a game against Furman.
lol...this one didn't age well. If I'm a 5* kid I'm thinking "damn, this place is this live when they play Furman??? I gotta come back for a big game." As a comparison, the clemson fans were booing the players when they walked off the field at halftime. This place is special...doesn't matter who we're playing.Hosting a 5 star at the Furman game seems like a weak effort. Atmosphere probably won't be great for a game against Furman.

Lets just trust Beamer with the visit schedule.
Can't remember where I read it, but he has stated a strong affection for the city of Columbia and playing for the Gamecocks.According to 247, Saturday was the first game he's been to as a recruit. He's been to camp at Georgia twice and once at Carolina. He visited FSU and UCF in the offseason too. USC, Clemson and Notre Dame have offered him too but he hasn't been to any of those places yet.
He's a 2025 guy, he'll probably go to a lot of games and a lot of places before he signs anywhere. If he's a true 5 star, he'll see some much more exciting games and much more intense atmospheres than Furman/USC.
Not true. This is from the On3 article linked in the OP:According to 247, Saturday was the first game he's been to as a recruit. He's been to camp at Georgia twice and once at Carolina. Thx, knew I had read it somewhere! Not true. This is from the On3 article linked in the OP:
The 6-foot-4, 270-pound junior and No. 2 overall prospect in the 2025 class has been a priority target for the Gamecocks for over a year now and has taken multiple recruiting trips to Columbia.
“Columbia is like downtown Savannah for me,” Griffin told On3’s Chad Simmons last month. “It is not too big and it just has that similar feel for me. It is like I am back in my hometown when I am at South Carolina.”
“Georgia and South Carolina are still up there. I have visited those two schools a lot, both schools have coaches that I am comfortable with and I have had those two on my list from the beginning.
He also said he visited Clem in June. I was just making a joke b/c the atmosphere was insane. There will surely be better, but it was far from a weak effort...and from every return I've seen, was a GREAT atmosphere.
I was going by what 247 has on their site. I guess Saturday was the first GAME he's been to anywhere as a recruit. According to 247 it is Carolina and Georgia in the running for him. I hope Texas or A&M don't come after him with their big oil money wallets open. Not true. This is from the On3 article linked in the OP:
