Florida St. Leaving ACC?

Florida St. AD presented to the Board of Trustees the amount necessary to leave the ACC. The big issue seems to be how schools are being paid by the ACC and the gap between the ACC and SEC/Big 10 in TV money.

A trustee asked whether a buyout to leave the ACC was feasible. The answer wasn’t “no.”

Even worse they are going to lobby for unequal distributions which is not good for us.

Interesting. They can’t leave because they’re trapped by the grant of rights. But if enough other schools want to get off that media deal, what if they got enough votes to dissolve the conference? Then they’d all be free agents with no media deal tying them down. Of course the smaller schools would vote no. Don’t know how many votes it would take or if it’s even feasible. But that conference is about to really get left behind if they don’t do something.
