First time poster, long time reader. Just noticed that you can go on My Dogtag > My Purchase History and see your updated seats for 08. Anyone try to upgrade after the big winning season and are you pleased with the change? Guess it doesn't really matter since we've got that fancy HD on the way.

But, based on what I am seeing with the Bulldog Club rankings, it appears to me that more people are giving more money. My ranking is going down, which is a little bit of a surprise to me.

I'm sure the bowling last year and now GB's bulldog club billboards arcoss the state are reeling in the dough. I upped the anti this season, but I'm a newby so I'm not surprised with only a slight change in seating.

Of course I paid my money at the time of my pledge and that helped some. I opted to keep the same seats that I've had the last 6 years even though my ranking and giving level would have moved me closer to the 50.

Had E row 54 last year. Requested C or E row 54 or higher 1st, and 2nd closer to the 50 if possible. I like it high, see.

Got my tickets together, but on row E 24. :-( Did get 10-15 seats closer to the 50 I think.

We also were placed in section E row 28. We got 6 tickets together but not as close to the 50.

I've been in section E row 19 for the past couple of years and I think the exit portal row is 28. It is either 26 or 28.

Paying at the time of your pledge will only help you temporarily. My ranking was higher right after I paid than it is now. I thought I had moved up. But, it has dropped now.

Mine isn't showing what seats I got. It just says "To be assigned" under the Section/Row/Seat columns. I assume this is because I did not purchase tickets last year.

Did you put in a request for a certain section? They probably try to fill those first given the rank is similar for a first timer.

This was my first year as well to purchase season tickets. I was wondering, for some of you guys who have purchased in previous years, How large of donations are you making to get seats closer to the 50 yard line? Guess i am talking about some of you who posted earlier in this thread. Just wanted to know so i know how much i need to donate next year to get decent tickets.

That makes me feel better. I was initially upset that my seating did not change. I increased my pledge some, and basically had the same request you did (higher first then toward the 50). We have been on E 51 for the last couple of years, but are apparently close enough to D that our odds of moving closer to the 50 are slim.

On the issue of sitting above row 50; not only can you see, but even for 11:30 starts you are sitting in the shade before half time. It makes the game considerably more enjoyable.

is that it is not solely based on priority. Our AD still guarantees seating from year to year in football. So you quickly reach a point where you have to wait for someone not to renew to move forward, but you can improve your seating quickly. I have been in the club for 5 years. Our first year we sat in E/F right on the field next to the visiting fans. Two seasons later we were on the other side of E enjoying the games much more.

On how much to give: At $400 per seat for 4 seats you can assume everyone around you is giving at least $1600. You have to give enough more than that to gain ground on their consecutive years of giving. That way when someone ahead of you doesn't renew you have passed enough people to significantly improve your seating.

I just find it inherently wrong to participate in a system where you have to "pay for the privilege" to "buy tickets." Call me cheap or whatever, but I just find that disturbing in a small way. To each his own, but it's not for me. I think I'd rather spend my time and energy figuring out ways to get around that, perhaps by mooching off the idiots that participate in the scheme, or by calling in favors, or by just getting lucky on game day scoring tickets outside the stadium.

While I think the person who invented this should be cast to the Nether Regions (where there's weeping and gnashing of teeth), it's a fact of life. MState hasn't gotten the fan following required to pull this stunt (like say, Alabama or LSU), but I think it's right to reward someone with seats (and parking) closer to what they want if they give enough money to the Bulldog Club.

of buying season tickets in football. At least not yet, I don't believe. You do in basketball. But, I believe in football, you can just buy season tickets without making any contribution to the bulldog club. Now, to say that you have to pay for the privilege of getting good seats and good parking is accurate.

Of course, a lot of people look at the contribution as supporing the program, and do it for that reason. Me, not so much. I am paying for the seats and the parking.
