When I was in school in was. Think it opened on the heels of capstone, late 60’s.When was in single gender?
So it was co-ed? I'm not judging if it wasn't. Just curious. It was fine at the time. Suite-style and furnished for 4 students. Bates had a cafeteria at the bottom we could walk to if we were lazy. Little bit of a walk to the Russell House but not bad. Close to The Sarge back in the day, which was nice. Nailed a couple of exchange students from France that lived in the same floor as me. That was great.

The Roost was good too. They had free soft-served Icecream. Not many people hit up those places.I enjoyed eating at the cafeteria over at South Tower (or maybe it was in South Building) back in the day. Red-blooded men will understand.
I miss Mrs. K's cooking at the old Roost Cafeteria that overlooked The Sarge. No way the meals she cooked would make it past the Nutritionist we have. Many a meal eaten there before having to work midweek games. The Roost was good too. They had free soft-served Icecream. Not many people hit up those places.

I don't remember but Daddy probably does. He worked for years in the old SCE&G building down there before they moved to the Palmetto Center. What was the meat and3 that was down on Main Street below the train station?
TBH when I was in school, non-athlete students didn't think they could eat at The Roost. They thought it was just for athletes, which made it nice that it wasn't crowded. The Roost was good too. They had free soft-served Icecream. Not many people hit up those places.
This!I lived in Patterson and Sims.
When USC was still on the table, Jones was looking at Patterson as an option. Since it's been remodeled and now co-ed, it's really nice. And the cafeteria in the bottom was always one of the best on campus.
By the time I was there in the mid-90s. It was co-ed. The 2nd floor was all girls. The 3rd floor was all guys. All other floors were mixed gender. When I was in school in was. Think it opened on the heels of capstone, late 60’s.
In fact the first time I heard “The Boss” was in that dorm.
EDIT - Don't respond until I've had enough coffee!This!

We still talking about Columbia Hall here??Had to be after Spring 1996. It was all female at least through then. And it went back to all female in the 2000s because my cousin lived there her Freshman year (07-08), and it was all female. I know it went co-ed after the remodel.
Patterson. Oops. Thought the second reply also quoted me. Clearly I have not had enough coffee this morning. We still talking about Columbia Hall here??

yellow building wasn't it? can't remember the name. What was the meat and3 that was down on Main Street below the train station?
Cogburn's and Keg O' Nails Deli were regular stopsWhat was the name of the restaurant just as you crossed into Cayce on the right. I used to drive over there I believe it was on friday to get turkey and dressing.
Other places I miss that are no longer around are: Steak and Egg Kitchen in Cayce and the German Gesthaus off Decker BLVD. I worked part-time at the Marriott Downtown in Banquets and the food was actually quite good there as well (we ate a lot of the left overs the chefs made for the events).
2nd best steak sandwich on planet earth!Cogburn's
Yellow I think so………did the name have “goodie” in it.yellow building wasn't it? can't remember the name.

If you had seen how drunk I was for most of my four years at Carolina, you'd recognize what a great accomplishment it wasThis is a SPORTS site. Here you are again, eliminating people with the title of the post "FOR CAROLINA GRADUATES"...Please go start a board somewhere else that only lets Graduates in.
I would love to see the mods exit you from the board. You must have low self esteem. Is graduating from USC your biggest accomplishment? If it is, you have not accomplished much in life.
If you had seen how drunk I was for most of my four years at Carolina, you'd recognize what a great accomplishment it was
But seriously though........eff off
And even more seriously, my proudest achievement is raising a daughter who graduated magna *** laude from USC. But my couple of degrees (I was manga *** lucky) are a distant number two. Your type needs to learn your place. Just buy tickets, donate to the Gamecock Club, post on these irrelevant boards to feel like you matter and don't dare do the toast at the end of the alma mater
And have a great day!
Did you ever ask your daughter if getting drunk the night before exams helped or hindered the outcome? If you had seen how drunk I was for most of my four years at Carolina, you'd recognize what a great accomplishment it was

Maxcy and yes because it has AC now haha. It’s also close to everything.2 part question................What dorm/dorms did you live in & would you recommend that dorm for your child to live in if they choose Carolina?
I'll begin.
Columbia Hall, & yes. I'd be fine with either of my children living there.
I'm too old as well, lived across the street, frat housing. Still hold #1 spot for parking tickets!Honeycombs, no longer exists. Across the street from The Big Bird (I'm way too old)
