HBO2 is running their 2 part George Carlin documentary today and tomorrow. Part 1 is today, only the west showing at 8:30 is left. Tomorrow it's 5:30 pm (HBO2) and 8:30 pm (HBO2 West). If you have HBO Max or HBO on demand you can watch it there too.

It's a good watch. My memories of Carlin are from the 90s of his HBO specials. Never knew anything about his suit and collar days and there was no way to watch his older stuff back then.

Highly recommended for those who enjoyed his stand-up.

He was brilliant. Saw him at The Forum (very small venue) in Harrisburg in late 80's. I really couldn't listen to him in his later years. He became just very angry and acted like he was a genius and everybody else was a moron. Seemed to have that annoying liberal "we're good / you're bad" no shades of gray world view. I did see a few mins of the special and he sort of addressed this...a quote something like "scratch the surface of a cynic and you'll find an idealist."

Man I really don’t want to make this political but can you honestly say over the past 4-5 years that isn’t the exact slogan and feeling of the “conservative” party ?

I think he was a great stand-up. Some of his stuff is hilarious. But overall, I just found him a little too smug and can’t take much of him. Funny but annoying maybe?
