What were your thoughts on KC as a host city? We loved it. They knocked it out of the park. Leaps and bounds better than Tulsa last year. KC should be a permanent host in the midwest rotation.

This was my first National Championships but being near the Power and Light District I thought the location was great because of the amount of hotels and restaurants within walking distance. Met a lot of nice folks not wearing the blue and white.

First time there - visited the Negro League Baseball Museum between sessions on Friday and the WW1 museum between sessions Saturday. Blew it by staying at Harrah’s Casino and not downtown, spent a small fortune in Uber and missed out on the wrestling community downtown vibe (lesson learned).
Outside of the wrestling fans I didn’t see much activity besides the Power and Light district, maybe others have a different opinion (the weather for late March was pretty nice). I would go back but do things differently.

Shane Sparks was saying KC should be permanent. It is nice to leave the arena and go right to the bars. Not that I am a big party guy, but it was nice to blow off some steam. We did this in Pittsburgh 2019 and it worked out great but we did not stay near the arena (Airbnb) and used Uber. We did walk in the AM but at night, no way.

We are planning on going to Philly and Cleveland. I think Cleveland will be the better option. Small city where everything is centrally located. I could drive from Erie, but I have been downtown Cleveland enough to be comfortable right in the mix of things. We could plan on driving and Lake Erie could decide do dump 10 inches of snow. Philly is a different animal.

My employer’s HQ is in KC. Been there a few times. P&L district is a whole lot of fun. Negro Leagues museum, Union Station, BBQ. Just over the state line in KS there a BBQ place in a converted Gas Station that is really good. Chiefs, Royals…lots of cool stuff.

Definitely think KC should be in the Midwest rotation. A number of people we talked to from the midwest, that have been to numerous Finals, said they really liked 2019 in Pittsburgh, and would love to go back there.

Fantastic city. Hotels within walking distance, ours was 10 minutes. Many places to eat.
Grandson went to the science center on Saturday and he said it was the best one he’s been to.

You have to add the Plaza, Westport, the Ameristar casino, the art museum, a drive thru Mission Hills and BBQ at Q39 or Gates's to the list of must-see KC places.

My son and I loved KC, although we only have Detroit and Tulsa to compare it to. Brew pubs are our thing and there are plenty of them in walking distance from T-Mobile. The City Market area was also nice.

Just make sure you stay away from KC’s ‘challenged’ neighborhoods. Their crime rate has steadily risen in recent years with a record # of homicides in 2023. As long as you’re in the touristy areas, you should be fine. Though that shooting a few weeks ago was at Union Station (which is generally a good area). Overall, KC is a great place to live…a fast-growing Midwest metro area excellent for job opportunities, top-rated universities, pro sports events, & incredible arts/culture/food.

I hope you who attended this year and in the past don’t mind me asking.
What did you drop for the weekend?
Arriving Wednesday, hotel for 4 nights, food, etc.
What are tickets for all the sessions?

Thank you

KC is an excellent venue for the NCAAs. We had a great time and no issues finding places to eat and drink between sessions

I spent $660 each on tickets for the six sessions. It cost $300 just for the finals.

1. Tickets were $350/each for all sessions in 200 level (got them thru another school)
2. Hotel was $540 for 4 nights outside of the city at Harrah’s casino. I’d pay extra next time to be downtown because of #3.
3. Uber back/forth from the city to the hotel was $80/day easy - surge pricing after the night session going back was $50+. It would have been nice to walk to/from the hotel and be around all the activity.
4. I think air was $350/each round trip.
5. Food and drinks I didn’t track - it wasn’t super expensive but we didn’t cut corners. Lots of places to eat.

You have a guess what would the NIL Club donation level be to get tickets through Penn State?

if you are talking about next year in Philly, or the year after in Cleveland, don't count on getting tickets from PSU, just get them somewhere else. The PSU tickets will be so far over-subscribed it isn't funny

Thanks. Thinking Cleveland as it’s 2-1/2 hour drive.

Can’t wait until next season the National tournament in Phila. Last time in Phila PSU fan’s dominated the entire arena. So much fun. Memories of a lifetime. Can’t wait. Heck I can’t wait till next month for the last Olympic trail’s in the BJC. Best wrestlers in the Country going at it including a lot from the NLWC who in some matches will be wrestling each other. Ex. Nolf and Dake. Brooks and Taylor.
