Got another old story scanned and posted for anyone interested. This one was written in the spring of 1996 about that year's baseball sophomores who had been the No. 1 recruiting class in the country in 1994 (Eric DuBose, Adam Piatt, Richard Lee, etc...). Also has a couple of quotes from then associate head coach Pat McMahon.

This was obviously looking ahead to the 1996 season but it would be interesting to look back to see how that class set the stage for CWS appearances in 97 and 98.

Hauswald was one of the all time “what could have been” stories. Sucks that he had that 4-wheeler accident or whatever it was that he never really made it back from.

I didn't even remember that had happened but when I shared this story with some of my friends the other day one of the first comments back was about Hauswald and what might have been.
