"There's Greg Favors".

Keefer, nothing else needs to be said.

Great job as usual. Thanks.

I'm not one to speculate on "could have been" type scenarios, but I'll always believe Keefer had Barry Sanders like talent.

...seeing an MSU execute on offense.

Now days every good thing that we do on offense looks like something we pulled out of our ***. But in those clips, we look like we know what we're doing - getting the ball to a RB in space with down field blocking. What a concept.

I've always thought Keef would have been one of the greatest State players in History (which he still is), but I think he would have been an NFL legend as well...

little used backup from Natchez. I didn't realize he played in that game either. During the regular season, Jackie only used him for quarterback sneaks out of the shotgun - so frustrating, b/c everybody knew it was coming. Just like when Wyatt lined up in the shotgun on 4th downs and kept backing up and kept backing up into punting position.

I've followed MSU sports for a long time and that name is barely ringing a bell. I knew though that it had to be someone unheard of to be left handed.

....back at the Ole Miss game from that year and found him. I have no memory of this guy at all.

and the great thing about him was he was so humble. He went to school to get an education then play football, he was truly a good person and one heck of a football player.

For some reason that always stuck out to me, and it was when I realized that this guy was going to be a bad ***.

We went to every game during that season. He was the primary backup and played a good bit that year. I know he played most of the second half up at UK.

over the corner of the endzone, that's when it hit me. That we were stuck with this assclown for 2 more years. Thanks Jackie.

And Darren had a year of eligibility left to play, but graduated and joined the Army (he was ROTC). Jackie commented about that at the Jackson summer extravaganza.

People forget that in 1996, Keefer ran for 500+ yards in six plus quarters before tearing his ACL in the first half at South Carolina. He would have easily had 2000 that year. He single handedly bear Memphis that year.

was a truly great day. Maroon, not crimson, dominated Bryant-Denny Stadium that day. By the end of the game, the State fans were the only ones left in the stadium. I remember a linemen picking Bully (the actual dog) over his head and parading him around, I was shocked that dog didn't **** right in his face. Man, good memories.

Reggie Kelly was the Bama killer, he always made big plays aGAINST them.

the week before, and that may have been the best road trip ever, simply because I thought we had no chance to win, and then we shut their *** out.

1997 and 1999 Auburn games are probably the best road trips I ever had.
