1998 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM REUNION PLANNED

We are currently in the process of contacting members of the 1998 Mississippi State SEC Western Division football championship team. It is our plan to honor that group in this, the 10th anniversary of that team's appearance in the SEC Championship Game.

We will recognize that team with a full day of activities on Saturday, Sept. 13, when the 2008 Bulldog team plays host to Auburn. If you, or someone you know, played on that team, please contact Candace Dailey in the Bulldog Club, 662-325-3074. She is coordinating the communication with the coaches and players on that team. More details will come.

With that being said, who would you give the loudest applause?

JJ, Madkin, Love, KP. Tim Nelson.

They all made great, memorable plays during that run.

I'll never forget that final drive against Ark or JJ gutting it twice out on the goal line against OM.

And Nelson running back that int ,after a great catch on the sideline. I have, until this day never had a better feeling at a
game

He is the one guy that we couldn't have done this without.

He caught way more **** than he deserved while he was here, and we haven't had a quarterback nearly as good since.

For all the hell he caught, he was actually a pretty decent QB. Yeah, he could look terrible on some plays, but he also made a lot of spectacular plays. And he usually played his best when it mattered the most.

I know it won't happen, but wouldn't it be great to christen the new HD Board with a 1998 highlight video? I can't think of a better way to get the crowd worked up before kickoff and show the current students how good we can be.

Ashley Cooper, Brian Hazelwide, always liked Dennis McKinley. He was a bowling ball, made a lot of JJ's yards possible.

He was a pass rush beast that season. He was in the backfield all day during the Arkansas game. As for my loudest applause: JJ, KP, Kevin Cooper, Dennis McKinley, Brian Hazelwood, the entire D, the entire OL.

Agreed. I loved Madkin. He had those scratch your head moments, but I thought he was great... Especially after Derrick Taite. Plus, he's still a big follower of State, and I like to see old players do that.
