FSU making noise again about leaving ACC? Where would they go?

Not the SEC. No PAC-12. Other leagues up for more teams already? They may try, I guess, before UGA whoops them. Why not just wait since next year they would be in expanded playoff. Likely just blowing off steam, probably would too even though Bama deserved > them.

With the playoff system expanding going independent is no longer an option.

It is ironic that FSU spent the entire off-season undermining the idea of the ACC being a quality conference and now they are outraged that the committee agreed with them.
Not ironic at all if you’re trying to build a case.

If they had done what they could have done 32 years ago, they would be where they should have been and not be hating on their predicament.
Am I correct in my memory that if Florida State had accepted the offer to join the SEC that would have meant that USC would not have gotten an offer to join?

Now’s not the time to leave. With a 12 team playoff coming, the ACC is the best shot in the Power 5 to go undefeated or have one loss - which would pretty much guarantee a spot in the top 12.

They had not accepted an offer but they had been approached. They chose the lower competitive hanging fruit of the ACC and its presumed academic superiority. Had it gone differently, we certainly would have missed our shot; FSU and Arkansas would have gone in together.

But there's the money disparity.

I wonder how the soon-to-be proposed new FBS division will affect all of this. It will obliterate conferences altogether.

This will end with the business run football programs breaking off into their own organization. AFC/big 10 nfc/sec.

Okay. Thanks for clarifying.

Just another national guy with the opinion that FSU/Clem aren't as valuable as they think they are.

I've said this in several posts. The B1G wants UVA and UNC. Some idiots think the only thing conferences care about is football. The SEC doesn't want FSU and Clem either.

No sympathy at all for them. Under Bowden, they wanted the easy path and they got it. Now suck it up buttercup.

You didn't get a cherry. Lots of people been saying the same thing for a long time. As for your last sentence: only thing that seems certain is the BIG favors AAU schools for expansion.

They would probably be a 3 loss team and not concerned at all about being left out of the CFP if they had joined the SEC 32 years ago.

If USC had been able to get in the ACC at that time it would have probably worked out better for us. Carolina would have definitely won more games in the ACC than the SEC over the last 32 years and probably would have several ACC championships in football.
