ATLANTA -- A Georgia Tech football player is out of jail on bond after being arrested on rape charges. On April 25, a woman went to DeKalb County police and told them that Jerrard Tarrant raped her in the undergraduate living center, police said. "The activity was consensual. The circumstances are such the surrounding facts will show no sexual activity took place against the will of the female," said Tarrant attorney Ed Garland in a statement released Monday. It took police two months to complete the investigation. Police said they were waiting for lab results. <table class="storyAd" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="100%" border="0"> <tbody> <tr> <td class="storyAdObj"> <span class="adObj adsquare" id="ad_N312E3120.23AB"> </span> <div> <span class="adObj adsquare" id="ad_N312E3120.23AB"></span> <div class="blurblink"> <span class="adObj adsquare" id="ad_N312E3120.23AB"> </span> </div> </div> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table>"These charges filed against Jerrard are something that we take very seriously. He has been suspended from the team indefinitely, pending the outcome of the legal proceedings," head coach Paul Johnson said in a statement Monday. Tarrant, a freshman, has not played for the Yellow Jackets yet.

All-Conference-"He's just a kid, and kids make mistakes. How many of us made mistakes when we were just helpless little children in college? Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone."

Returning Starter-"This is a serious charge. He'll be doing windsprints 'til he pukes, or at least until he gets tired."</p>

Contending for a starting position--"This is a very serious allegation. If indicted, he'll have to sit out the first half against Jacksonville State."</p>

Scrub whose career going nowhere-"Stick him in the same jail cell as Jimmy Johns."</p>

anybody knows the "facts" of what happened that night, other than those two. Let's just say they didn't have enough hard evidence to say he was guilty and move on. I don't really think either of their versions is the whole truth though.

bragging, having nailed some other guy right after, etc. Not the typical actions of a victim. You're right, we don't have actual proof though.

Nobody really knows if Kobe was guilty or innocent and they don't know if the GA Tech player is guilty or innocent. Either way, it can ruin the life of one party or the other.
