If Franklin doesn’t give Allar meaningful reps in this game, I might stop watching. I don’t want to, but I just don’t think I can stomach this PAINFUL irrational attachment to Clifford for 4 more games while we piss away invaluable experience for Allar/Veillieux.
Or, another possibility is that CJF, the assistant coaches, and the players are all united with the common mindset that they want to do everything they can to win the remaining 4 games, finish 10-2, and head to a New Years 6 bowl.
They are united in their belief that in order to accomplish that goal, the staff needs to play the best players. They are also united in their belief that the best qb on the team right now is Sean Clifford.
The team also sees that the staff will play true freshman when those players prove they are better than the returning players on the squad (Kaytron Allen, Nick Singleton, Abdul Carter, and others all say “hello”).
I wonder if that is even a possibility. Let’s consult the expert fan boys sitting on the couches at home - certainly they know more than the coaches and players.

They have 4 soft opponents remaining. They lost their only two games against tough opponents with Clifford at the helm. They got utterly blown out by Michigan. They collapsed against Ohio State, with Clifford as a primary culprit.
It’s time to move on.
Trying to defend the idea that Clifford is the best QB they have is ridiculous. Try flipping that argument around and seeing how reasonable it sounds. So, if Clifford isn’t good, but he’s the best we have… then that means that Drew and Christian…?
See how that works? Do you really want to try to make a case that the other two guys are WORSE?
Break it down by numbers for me. How much lower are our chances of winning if Christian or Drew gets the start? Is greater than or less than 5%?
We should be able to roll these last 4 opponents. And not playing Allar is, as I said, wasting precious reps. I didn’t say he has to play every down. I said he needs meaningful reps.

I'd settle for 4 close wins. Maryland is 6-2 just like PSU and they hung in with Michigan.
PSU is playing true freshmen like Singleton and Allen because they don't have a 6th year senior ahead of them.
