I was not very impressed by them. I know it’s tough working what are essentially “blowouts”, but as usual it seemed like there was a little anti-USC bias in there. Maybe kind of silly but word choices and intonation are very revealing.

Huge difference between “he throws that one in there for a strike” and “that pitch is called a strike”. Maybe it’s me but you hear that kind of stuff all the time. Please feel free to tell me I’m wrong if you disagree.

If espn continues to have announcers call the games from their homes, they should cut their prices. Seems Bush league to me. I didnt have a problem with the guys themselves tho. I've definately heard worse. Our bar is set pretty low.

The announcers did a nice job, don’t see how in the world they can get a very detailed picture of the game, not their fault though, it is what it is. To really appreciate the game, you got to be there, come on ESPN, really?

Come on guys….We have more access to college baseball games than we ever have before. It’s not a very popular sport to televise. So I’m just grateful to be able to see every game I want. What I saw and heard over the weekend is 10x better than hearing Beth Mowins call one of our football games.

I thought the announcers were actually very good. They were humorous, fair, and did a great job. If I had any issue over the weekend it was umpires behind the plate and I will say in fairness it went for all teams. Their strike zone looked like it was framed by a glob of something rather than a real box. I dont think any pitchers or hitters from either team knew what to swing at or not and what would be a strike and what not. Those guys were pretty bad but at least consistently bad.

Maybe the poor umpiring actually helped us by making us swing the bat.
The results were outstanding, as we broke out of our slump.
And obviously, getting McGillis back was huge!

Some umps do want to see teams swing the bat and hate to see teams try their best to walk. To our credit we did a good job rolling with that this weekend... we dont always do. Still hate to see some guys complain so much tho... especally when it's becomes obvious what the ump wants to see and those same guys could do a better job at protecting the plate.

Didn't that begin during the pandemic?

Or Todd Ellis for that matter.

Yeah. Like everything else, they realized they can save some $$ and be just as effective. If you didn't know better, you'd have no clue their in their basements vs the ballpark. I'd rather them do stuff like that than have to cut programming.
