We don't seem rattled at all. I thought our good freshman was playing tonight though???

Gamecocks improve to 7-0 with 89-67 win over George Washington (6-2). Meechie Johnson led the Gamecocks with 24 pts on 9-16 shooting, with 5-7 behind the 3-pt. line, and 8 rebounds. B.J. Mack added 20 pts on 7-13 shooting, with 4-8 behind the arc, with 3 rebounds and 2 blocks. Overall, the Gamecocks shot 33-66 (.500) from the field, and 18-35 (.514) from the 3-pt. line.

The 2nd half was a showcase of 3-pt. marksmanship for both teams, as GWU shot 6-8 from behind the arc, and the Gamecocks shot 10-19 (!!). South Carolina now heads to their rivalry game with Clemson this Wednesday at Littlejohn Coliseum undefeated. The Tigers (6-0) still have to play ACC foe Pitt (5-2) this Sunday before hosting us.....

School record 18 three pointers (54 points). I do not know much about sports but it seems that Mack and Meechie has their favorite spot on the court to shoot the three. Mack had a great night and need many more great nights when conference starts.

Welp, looks like he's getting ready to get in. Loving this game
He was just cleared two days ago to be able to practice half and full court. I was shocked to see him actually in the game tonight. He will get a few more chances to play with Charleston Southern, Winthrop, Elon and Florida A&M on the schedule before conference start.

Agreed. Paris is either lucky, good or both. Taking a bunch of senior transfers and blending them into a winning team immediately is not an easy task. Chemistry between all the players is unbelievable.
Last seasons roster was poor. A few times last season Coach Paris had to play kids in the first half of games that already had three fouls. South Carolina committed numerous ten seconds violations and turnovers trying to get the ball past mid court. A lot of scoring droughts that was just miserable. Coach Paris has done a great job with the portal and feel like South Carolina is building to be able to compete in the SEC in the next few seasons. With Coach Paris South Carolina is on the right path.

I just got a chance to watch a replay - wow, what a good game! We played well - I really like the way CLP lets the guys run the offense (not that I know that much about bball). But the guys look like they’re playing loose and having fun. I know competition will get a lot better coming up. Hopefully they can carry this forward and win some ballgames in Jan and Feb!
