Gamecock football OC Marcus Satterfield a candidate at Nebraska
South Carolina Gamecocks football offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield is a candidate to join Matt Rhule's staff at Nebraska.
Beamer will need to work them in believing what he has started. I believe this is his strong point in doing his job.Satterfield did enough where he probably kept his job. In all honesty, he’d be smart to join his buddy at Nebraska. He’s a few bad games away from being canned here, even with the way things went down the stretch. The most concerning part could be how this might impact the decisions of Rattler and Wells.

If he's going to Nebraska, I would demand a 3-4 year deal. Not sure they'll give it to him but they have a major rebuild. My WAG is that he is gone. Money does not seem to be an issue for Nebraska. Not sure what job the Huskers would hire him for since he has seemingly coached all positions on offense plus has been a Recruiting Coordinator.
Agreed. We're on the way up. I'm not sure Nebraska is. Offensively, I think there are going to be some big questions about how Nebraska moves forward. Given their inherent recruiting disadvantages (relative to all the other Big 10 powers), Nebraska probably needs a very unique and innovative offensive plan. It's going to be a real challenge. If he's going to Nebraska, I would demand a 3-4 year deal. Not sure they'll give it to him but they have a major rebuild.
Ruhle did very well at Temple and Baylor. This was after Baylor had fallen on hard times as well. With the prior relationship it makes a lot of sense. I don’t see Satterfield leaving unless it’s an OC position. The only way I could fathom that was if Satterfield was already told he wouldn’t be retained and to look for another position.Agreed. I'm still not convinced on Satterfield and would really love to know how much Kitchens has been involved this season and did thsat increase in the past two games?

HuskersI wouldn't get into a bidding war for him.
If Sooners want to break out the checkbook, hasta la vista, baby.
I don’t believe Beamer.Beamer already told you. Satt called every single play. Not sure why people keep making us this crap. Literally never seen anything like it. Most fanbases would be freaking out over how our OC finally delivered the offense that even they didn't believe was possible so soon. We are tryin to find a way to get rid of him.
Not sure I agree. As someone mentioned earlier, Nebraska has some recruiting disadvantages. The good news is oaklahoma and Texas are leaving the conference.Nebraska today is a lot better job than SC 2 years ago with that disaster.
Nebraska is in the B10. They left the B12 a long time ago.Not sure I agree. As someone mentioned earlier, Nebraska has some recruiting disadvantages. The good news is oaklahoma and Texas are leaving the conference.
You are 100% correct. Perhaps they are using Kitchen's plays now?Beamer already told you. Satt called every single play. Not sure why people keep making us this crap. Am I OK with keeping him for another year ($100K raise) and seeing what happens - yes. Am I OK with a three year contract and a huge raise to keep him from going to Nebraska - absolutely not.
You could see this watching TV.Satt called every single play.
I am still in the early 2000's. Went to see Nebraska play Colorado when they were ranked #1 in Boulder. The Buff's took them down. For some reason I can't put them in the big 10 in my mind.Nebraska is in the B10. They left the B12 a long time ago.
I don’t believe Beamer.

Perfect. Takes the pressure off Beamer. He can go quietly and take the meme queen with him as a bonus.![]()

Would that be a "package deal"?Perfect. Takes the pressure off Beamer. He can go quietly and take the meme queen with him as a bonus.

Hopefully it's a continuation of the "hire a friend" theme and comes to reality.Unfortunately, it's just a listing of former assistants under Rhule as "names to watch".
That is something to think about. When you come into a rebuild, you have your philosophy and already know your offense. But you probably don't have the personnel to run it well. The best OCs can adjust. Most don't to the chagrin of the fane base. That has been the case here more often than not since HBC left. But this team did just win 8 including The Big Game in year 2 of the Beamer era. Beamer Ball and some timely good defense has helped a lot. As already mentioned, I wouldn't go all out to keep Satt. But if he wants to stay I wouldn't want him fired at this point. If he's going to Nebraska, I would demand a 3-4 year deal. Not sure they'll give it to him but they have a major rebuild.
