This version of Gamecock football (with the exceptions) is no different than what we've seen throughout the years, great facilities do not graunetee a winning program. The one thing Gamecock football has achieved is we have made former head coaches millionaires. Now we will limp forward to possibly another 6 & 6 year and a lower tiered bowl game. Let's not forget womens basketball is around the corner, while I'm proud of their achievements, Dawn Staley has managed to bring race as a centerpiece of her program, last year the National Anthem, this year jumping the gun on the BYU- Duke scandal. Where has Ray Tanner, BOT, and President been? Head coaches are not hired to make policy, but in this woke society she gets a pass. Finally, baseball , once the standard bearer of Gamecock sports is an embarrassment.

I agree with you about Dawn. She has become an embarrassment for the university. Ray needs to decide if he is OK with her being bigger than the university because that is how she sees herself. She is completely wrong about the BYU thing and she knows it but refuses to admit she is wrong or back down from her position. Ray needs to schedule BYU and tell Dawn if she doesn't show up he will consider that a resignation. The short term would be painful but if he doesn't reign her in she will think (correctly) that she is more powerful than anyone in the university.
To look at it from another angle, all of this could have been orchestrated to create this tension in order to get a dominant coach out of a dominant WBB program. A cautious approach is warranted. This whole BYU-Duke thing is very sketchy.
Additionally, men's basketball was once the standard bearer of Gamecock sports and it too is an embarrassment.
6 wins? 5 tops with this team. Somehow they seem worse than last year even with the additional talent brought in. Goes to show that games are won and lost at the line of scrimmage and this has not improved even a little. All the hype is over now and somehow I bought into it and I know better. Let’s face reality and give Beamer a few more years to get them where they need to be to be competitive. We all know the problems. No sense in pointing them out on a weekly basis.
I'm guilty of the last sentence. But my frustration gets me at times. I do hope we see improvement going forward each week. That could include coaching changes, player movement. SB is paid to make these adjustments, I hope he succeeds.
I've bought in it for 50 years, I'm a lifetime member with club seats but cannot see wasting time and money attending games, I've been fortunate to sell my tickets to someone who will enjoy them.
