The only guy I can think of is that year we played Auburn in the SEC Championship, the 5'4" kick returner.

The first name I thought of was Ryan Brewer, who was 5'9".
Ace Sanders is 5'7". He was amazing.

Agree. Gotta be Brew. Wasn’t highly rated and ended up having a great career here. Proved a lot of people wrong.
Immediate image that defines Brewer is from the 2011 Outback Bowl, as he was single-handedly beating OSU. I think we were up 17-7 and at/around OSU's 10. Brewer took a handoff and an OSU player blatantly grabbed his facemask, whipped him around and dragged him down...all very intentionally. Brewer popped back up immediately, in the process tossing an OSU defender in the air like a rag doll. It was a coupe of plays later, I think, he ran the ball in to officially put the game away and rubbed OSU's face in it. OSU put a late hit on him as he ran the ball in.
I once knew an OSU fan who upon finding out I followed the Gamecocks actually said "thank y'all for helping to get John Cooper fired after that game."
Same for me, but in reverse. I've told OSU fans they ought to thank us for that firing. They've laughed and agreed.
I'll also agree on Brew. And Ace was pure excitement.

Mike Davis was listed as 5-9 but since he was 220 lbs., you don't think about his height so much.

It was really something. 200 all-purpose yards, over 100 yards rushing, and 3 TDs.
I would not say single handley beat OSU, the defensive played pretty good that day as well holding them to around 250 yards but offensively sure he was the man that day!
Brewer, in my opinion. Overlooked by pretty much everyone, played with a chip on his shoulder.
The one and only Ryan Brewer! Wanted to play for his home state school, but John Cooper didn’t think he was good enough. At 5’9” and not very fast, who could blame him. Ended up sending tape to Holtz. Then got the ultimate payback in the Outback bowl!!
The stat I still remember from that game more than any: we outrushed OSU 218-85.
Brandon Wilds. Lived in Lattimore’s shadow and when he got hurt people thought the team was done and Wilds balled out.
