lol, someone who wasn't even on the team this year is jumping in to bowl practices, while our own players are jumping ship for fear of breaking a nail.

Sad the way society is turning to embrace selfishness, isn't it?

Glad those boys that had to fight the Nazis & Japanese weren't selfish.

I typically shy away from making any football/war comparisons. However, it definitely points to a seismic shift in mindset. It wasn't all that long ago when NOT playing in your team's bowl game wasn't a thought that would have ever entered a player's mind. You play football. Your team has a game. You play.

Selfish is the only way to describe it. Yeah, you have to look out for your future, but when a school has gifted you tuition, room and board and afforded you the opportunity to even have a chance to make to the NFL, I just don't understand the mindset where there no sense of gratitude or obligation to see your commitment through to the end.

I don’t like players opting out, or instant transfer, or NIL. It is reality. The genesis is when players started being allowed to declare for the draft after three years. Add in all the most recent changes and you have a revolving door. The business side is pretty much in our face now

Would players be opting out if their team was in the playoffs with a chance at the national championship?

It was never an issue until fairly recent years. Did anyone opt out of the 1995 Gator Bowl? (just picking a random year)

I wish all our freshman were enrolling early and getting in practice time and leaving less time for another program to poach them off. I think we have another upgrade in this class. Now let's hit the portal and fill some holes. I suspect our coaches are busting their behinds recruiting while too many of our fans are lamenting something that we don't know how things ultimately will turn out. Reminds me of the posts going up after the first quarter of the clemson game. Go back and look at those and how did that turn out??. How did the season turn out?? 8-4, two wins over top ten teams and a quality bowl invite. I would have taken those results prior to the season. Hopefully those results mean more to our incoming class and kids we are still recruiting than the hysteria on this board over a hire that no one knows the results yet just like clemson at the end of the first quarter.
