Gamecocks drop midweek game to Presbyterian
The Gamecocks fell behind early and couldn't get enough offense late to push their win streak to three. They fell at home to Presbyterian.
some of us weren't holding our breath over itWeren't we just raving over a great weekend series?
He was? Nobody knew who Kingston was. Hell, I live in Tampa and didn’t know Kingston. We hoped for the best once he was hired, but I think most of us were surprised he was the best we could get.Don't see Kingston being here much longer. And to think he was one of the top up and coming coaches in the country when we hired him.
I don't think we have enough pitching to win many mid week games. We have to save for the weekend. Even then, the risk is still there to run out by Sunday's game.Weren't we just raving over a great weekend series?

I remember that. I also remember MLB personnel liking him.Wrong. And just because you didn't know who he was doesn't mean sh*t.
“He’s regarded as a really good overall coach and even more so a great recruiter,” D1Baseball’s Kendall Rogers told The State. “He’s a guy that’s going to be one of the few head coaches that is out at these 15 and 16u tournaments… He’s going to recruit well. He’s certainly highly regarded as a coach. I wouldn’t say that about someone if I didn’t think it and I think he’s going to do a really good job there.”
This is all talk after he was hired. It’s garbage. Everyone was surprised a guy like Kingston was the best we could do. He didn’t do all that much at USF. The writers have to write something. It is what it is. I was hopeful because I bought into all that crap after the fact. While it may not mean ****…looks like there might be something to me not knowing people…because Kingston sucks.Wrong. And just because you didn't know who he was doesn't mean sh*t.

Agree, not enough arms. Have to save our best for the weekend and none of the young arms have stepped up to own the mid-week games.I don't think we have enough pitching to win many mid week games. We have to save for the weekend. Even then, the risk is still there to run out by Sunday's game.
In a nutshell, we are screwed this year, again.

What did he win there? He had an overall losing record in conference play over those 3 years at USF. Basically had one decent year, his 3rd. He went 14-10 in conference (AAC) that year…knocked out of a regional by Bethune Cookman. Nothing spectacular. At USF he was coming off a 42-19 season and two postseason appearances in three seasons. He also had the #5 recruiting class in the country coming in. So just stop before you make yourself look even more clueless.
I find it hard to believe he had a top 5 class, but maybe you’ve got something to back that up. Not doubting your word…just doubting that he, or any coach really, was capable of that at USF. I did look up the previous year and his class was 87th.
Regardless, It doesn’t matter. Truth is none of us had heard of Mark Kingston until O’Sullivan turned us down and Tanner screwed up the search. Bottom line is Kingston is terrible and needs to go.
And for the record, there is a way to have a discussion without coming off as a complete douchebag. Every post you make has such an a$$hole edge to it. Just relax dude.
Why? Because I disagreed? I have no issue that we don’t see eye to eye…but every response you’ve made has had some sort of smarta$$ comment in it. Not only this thread, but many other threads you post in. Just because someone questions what you say or disagrees doesn’t mean they are out to start something with you. From when he was hired:
“Throughout this vetting process with numerous candidates, it has become very apparent to me that he is extremely poised in the ability to communicate, relate and motivate student-athletes of today,” Tanner told the BOT. “He’s an outstanding coach. His recruiting prowess has been demonstrated throughout his career, and certainly with a Top 5 recruiting class at his previous institution. I continue to be impressed with his ability that he is so well-rounded to handle the challenges and meet the expectations that we have here at the University of South Carolina. I’m very confident that our players and our fan base will be excited to have him as our next head coach.”
And you're wrong...plenty of people knew who he was. Just because you didn't doesn't speak for what others knew.
As for your last comment...look up the word "irony" in the dictionary.
