I don't know that it's an indictment on Doty - Leary is a really talented quarterback. It would be crazy for Carolina to not at least reach out and kick the tires a bit.Probably looking for insurance in case Rattler goes pro. This tells me Doty likely won't be our starter next year.
No, not necessarily an indictment on Doty. But I can't imagine he'll stick around next year if he knows there's a good chance he's not the starter.
And, while not an indictment on Doty, it does tell me the coaches still don't think he's THE guy.
Could be an indication that Rattler is planning to declare for the draft. At least the staff is preparing for that possibility.
My impression of Leary would be that he wants to go somewhere to start, or be in the mix to start. That doesn't sound like us if rattler is coming back.
Is Leary a pro-style QB? Since it is beginning to appear that we will have some form of pro-style offense, it just may simply be that Doty is struggling with it.
Glad we’re in on it. Was hoping we would be in case Rattler leaves. We’re losing a lot offensively so it would be interesting to know how much that would impact rattler’s decision.

NFL draft pundits seem to agree that Rattler stands to benefit more buy coming back for another season and could potentially boost his draft stock considerably. I guess it really just depends if Rattler thinks he's peaked as mid-to-late round pick. If he doesn't think he'll go any higher in the draft with another season under his belt, then he probably leaves.
