...Well, maybe not Gary himself seeing as how he's dead and the, honest-to-God, "spy plane" circling the OM practice fields yesterday was evidently remote controlled. But Rebel media-types are reporting with straight faces that a spy plane was taking pictures of practice from different altitudes. ....And they know it was taking pictures because it was using a flash.

However several fans and reports saw it.

Why would anyone want to spy on a 3-9 team's practice?

what exactly would they LEARN from taking pictures of the first few days of fall practice? "Oh look, their wide receivers are practicing basic post, slant, and fly routes." "Hey, their quarterbacks are practicing footwork." "Oh boy guys, we're in trouble... their linemen are working on the sleds."

Anyone who believes this is completely and utterly stupid. And I mean DUMB.
For example... please tell me why the plane would be using a FLASH CAMERA.
It's DAYLIGHT.
An airplane is about 1,000 times too far away for a flash to do anything anyway, unless if they have the sun in there. And the only person who could do that is Nick Saban. Waaaait...

The guys at Red Solo Cup mentioned it. That's the only place I've seen it. I don't know why they'd have any reason to make it up. However, I really doubt it was a spy plane. First off, unless you were taking video, you wouldn't be able to get anything. Photos of practice don't do a whole lot of good.

However, I do believe that there was a plane of some sort for whatever reason. The guys at Red Solo Cup wouldn't have any reason to say they saw one unless they did.

Edited to add: It is conceivable that if someone was taking pictures that they would need a flash. We've been holding practices from around 5:30 PM to about 8:00 PM. I know it stays light later, but it does start to get dark before our practices have been ending.

believe this?

I talked to an Ole Miss buddy who was there and saw it first hand. Funny as hell if you ask me. Houston's nutty enough. Got to get him good and paranoid now.

Honestly, given some of the wacko behavior we've seen from a lot of Arkansas fans, it wouldn't shock me if some idiot Hog fan was the one behind it either trying to mess with Nutt or genuinely believing that he was helping Petrino out.

Did it ever occur to you guys that you have a Presidential Debate coming up and just maybe everyone in the SEC is not trying to figure out what Nutt is doing? I would never expect any one like the Secret Service to have an unmanned plane with surveillance equipment in it.

Look, there's no way a plane uses a flash when taking pictures.....no matter what time of day or night it is. This may be the dumbest thing that I have ever heard of. The plane is too far for a flash to be effective. Some moron was probably trying to take pictures of their favorite team while on the practice field. Then, all of the morons at said practice field start thinking there's a huge conspiracy to find out what the great 0-8 in SEC play team has up its sleeve this year to wreak havoc upon the conference. This is why I say that the majority of Ole Miss fans are rednecks that never went to college and follow the team because of the rebel flag. This is too stupid.

By the way, I use ariel photography and a flash camera is very laughable.

It's not great but the rest of the shots were close-ups.

I'd suggest:
1. A miniature Folgelsong Red Baron plane
2. Peeping Croom hiding by the trees/fence with a remote control.

The only place it was reported (though it has been confirmed by others who attended the practice) was on Redsolocup. They only mentioned it because it was odd/humorous. I have no idea why we'd have a little plane flying around, but my guess is that it was ours.

is what I had pictured....

.... but obviously this couldn't be right because, as you can see, there are no flash bulbs on those cameras.

The hole thing was just an optical illusion. It was the setting sun reflecting off one of Jerrel Powe's orbiting moons.

I was at the practice yesterday and saw the thing. It's not a real airplane it's an RC so it wasn't "1000 times too high". I'm not claiming conspiracy cause like you said there really isn't anything of value you could learn from seeing this. But there was a remote control plane flying around and it had a flash on it.

because unless it was buzzing the players' heads and it was pitch black, the flash would do no good. Look, I believe that there was an RC plane there. If you say that there was even some kind of flashing light on it, then I believe that too. But the idea of a remote control camera, with a flash, auto-focus, vibrating on a small gas-powered RC plane, taking pictures of Ole Miss' fascinating and unique stretching routines, is absurd. Anybody who does think that someone was using an arial drone to spy on OM's practice either didn't finish high school, or is delusionally convinced that Ole Miss football is a much bigger deal than it is.

Here's what I want to know: why didn't you just give Snead a couple of rocks and tell him to shoot it down?

What you're saying now makes a little more sense. I used to work with a guy that as a hobby took aerial photos with rc planes. He has a website and tries to sell the photos as "art".

I found this clip of Nutt's daughter. This could be old news.....but it appears she will fit in just fine in Oxford.
