Out of curiosity I went on their website. I wanted to see how they were organized, legally setup, who their employees were and who the board members were. You had to login and possibly make a pledge to move forward. This is not typical of any corporation (profit or non-profit). Their stated purpose was to facilitate NIL opportunities for UF athletes through their community.

it did not feel as transparent as you would expect for a typical organization. we donate $$$ to Penn State as well as many other charities. In all cases, II can see how they are structured and who their board members are.

I did not check out Penn State groups, so not sure if this is typical.

They're making it up as they go along. What else would you expect?

looking at the Gator blog, they are really mad about their latest recruit going south and looking who to blame. they throw out names that are apparently associated with the Gator Collective. they are also circulating a rumor that Florida State has one "collective" that has been going through a personal bank account and distributing cash. do you think something like that could be happening? That is not an NCAA thing but an FBI thing along with numerous IRS tax avoidance items. That would be prison time for somebody. hard to believe someone would take personal risk like that. Gator faithful think it is happening - elsewhere.

If Joe Booster at FSU wants to underwrite the football program through NIL, why the fu@k does he need to go through a collective? People just make stuff up when they haven't a clue.

Possibly the individual has money to waste but dreams of power, prestige, and recognition. Maybe he wants to rub elbows with UFla movers and shakers.

If that's the motivation, more of a reason not to go through a collective run by Ted Mack's Amateur Hour.
I think the Gator people are pssd and lashing out. go to their site and they are really mad. Accusing FSU of passing money out of personal bank accounts seems like a reach.

nobody needs collectives to donate money to their football program. people do that all the time with gifts to the university foundation or athletic department foundation. I think the Gator folks are imagining things with FSU person(s) passing cash out of a personal bank account to a player. That would be a gift, so reported and taxed. Same as an estate tax situation. There is no legal way to secretly hand a person a large amount of cash in a bag legally. that is what the Gator people are accusing their Seminole buddies of doing.
