Boston beats Brooklyn by one point with a basket at the buzzer. I caught the last ten minutes, wow, great game. Boston really played smart on that last play, well done.

Kyrie Irving, in my mind he’s an all-timer, one of the greatest ever. Not enough today, though.

Celts blow a 13 pt lead get down 5 and then win at buzzer.

Holiday, Portis, Middleton Effective FG % this year, respectively, 57%, 55.5%, 52.2%. Milwaukee is one of the most fundamentally sound teams I've ever seen.

Certainly one of the best ever for flipping the bird cause he can't take the heat.....or giving his social justice take at every turn......

Dubs. Need I say more? Jordan Poole is money. They have three guys (Steph, Klay and Poole) who have a free throw percentage over 90%. That’s sick.

Final: Bucks 103-101 Celtics, Milwaukee up 2-1.
Wow, an exciting game, rough as hell.

Ja Morant made the mistake of chanting this, Warriors win by 30, Morant limps off court in 4th

The Dubs have too many scorers. Ja is literally half of the Grizzlies' point production. Everything has to go right for the Grizzlies to even be competitive. In game 2, Klay went something like 5 for 20 and Wiggins had a similarly pathetic shooting percentage. Steph and Poole didn't do a whole lot either. And the Grizzlies won by, what, three points?

All of that being said, I sure hope that Ja is not seriously hurt. He is a phenomenal talent to watch.

I haven't watched a single second of it, use to love the NBA back in the Magic/Bird era..

You would 100% love watching the Warriors, or the Spurs with Duncan and Manu. The passing is uniformly really good now, too, ball fakes, head fakes, misdirection, all that. Some players are mindblowing: Luka, KD. Chris Paul went 14-14 in a game last week, amazing. The defenses are a lot more sophisticated now, which forces the dependence on threes, to a large extent. The game in the 80s was really, really rough, and this wasn't sustainable. The game's evolved.

Most of the time, yeah. But I hope none of you guys back East stayed up to watch that mess of a game tonight. The Dubs pulled it out to go up 3-1, but it went down to the wire, and it never should have with Morant and his sore knee sitting out. At one point, Klay was 0 for 7 from beyond the arc and Steph was 1 for 8. They committed a shiat load of turnovers and looked just terrible. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies exploited their height advantage in the paint. Jaren Jackson, Jr. looks like he will be a star in the Association. He's 6'-11" and can play with his face to the basket, shoot the trey, and handle the ball. Very impressed with his play. The Grizzlies just need to learn how to close things out when they have the advantage.

Jackson Senior is still one of my favorite players from Georgetown. He got a ring with the Spurs.

Bucks 110-107 Celtics, final. Bucks came from 14 down in the 4th and Jrue Holiday is just a wonderful basketball player. The play below happened with the Bucks up 1 with under ten seconds to play.

A lot of it was just bad luck. Giannis missed a free throw that would have tied and the Celtics somehow lost the rebound to Portis, who scored to put the Bucks ahead. And then Smart made a great drive on the baseline; it took an all-time play by Holiday to stop that.

Celtics let a big one get away from them. That'll be hard to overcome.

Replying to @Nits74

The Celtics looked great. Really good ball movement, and they hit their threes. Marcus Smart, he's another Jrue Holiday, really. Celtics will beat Miami in six, maximum.

I agree and the Heat over Celtics. Both the Mavs and Celtics had tough series so they may be a little washed out now.
I hope the Celtics get Smart and Horford back in time for them to play a part against the Heat. I'm not necessarily rooting for either of these two teams, but I would like to see them match up at full strength.

Wow, the Celtics shot the lights out. Also, what I saw of their issues in Game 1 were easily fixable, I thought.

Marcus Smart, zero BS, he’s come such a long way mentally. He’s cut from the Jrue Holiday cloth; he’s someone you want on your team. And he’s only going to get better, damn.

Al Horford, he’s been on two NCAA championship teams, he’s 100% a winner. Boston’s got a great core.

Jimmy Butler is a true PROFESSIONAL, in every good sense of the word. He simply needs more assistance from his supporting cast, particularly Bam Adebayo. I don't know how much Tyler Hierro (sp?) or Victor Oladipo can give, but their help would be great. I'm wondering if Oladipo is anything close to what he was before the injury. (Which was brutal.)

Tonight's Game 2 in the Western Conference Finals was very satisfying. If you are a Dubs fan. They came from WAY back to win it. I'm thinking the Mavs have to be wondering "What do we have to do to win a frickin' GAME?!" The Mavs shot the lights out in the first half, but it wasn't enough.

I love Luka Doncic. He's a consummate pro. Much like Jimmy Butler, except younger and better. But, like Butler, he needs help if his team is gonna win any games. My projection is that the Dubs and Mavs split the two games in Dallas, and the Dubs close it out in Game 5 at the Chase Center. The only thing that changes that is if Luka's teammates really step it up in Dallas. Who knows? They have done it before.

Most likely, the only reason the Mavs are there is Ja Morant’s bone bruise.

Well, the Dubs DID go into Memphis, with Morant healthy and playing, and win Game 1 of their series. They lost Game 2, but barely. And that was with Klay and Steph both having very poor games. They simply had too much for Memphis.

It looks like the same thing with Dallas, except worse. The Dubs just went up 3-0. Andrew Wiggins just had himself one whale of a game. That dunk over Doncic was the truth. Dr. J and MJ quality dunk.

LOL, this thread is really generating traffic given that the Sixers have been out of the running for a bit. Same thing can be said of the NHL playoffs thread (if there IS one), given that both the Flyers and the Pens are out of the running.

I'm betting the Celts close out the Heat in Boston tonight, but I'm rooting for the Heat. Let it go the full seven games while the Dubs rest and recuperate in preparation for the Finals.
