and right on que, take an L. We can't handle prosperity. Pitt will be better than 17ing Butler.
He had an excellent portal haul because of NIL money and Hubbard is getting paid well. Cant ask more than that. We're fine. All you can ask of Jans is to be competitive and be able to make the tournament.
If we want to rise above that, we'll need to get serious about basketball NIL and attendance. That will mean reallocating some resources from football, which it appears we aren't ready to do, foolishly.
Let me rephrase.......this year I actually think we're better than 'just competitive' and will do more than just make the tournament. And I agree we recruited well and appear to still be doing it.He had an excellent portal haul because of NIL money and Hubbard is getting paid well. Cant ask more than that.
And for all the gnashing of teeth about Van Luben going to North Carolina over State, dude is barely playing there.
Butler was hot last night and State was ice cold. It happens.Let me rephrase.......this year I actually think we're better than 'just competitive' and will do more than just make the tournament. And I agree we recruited well and appear to still be doing it.
My point was that if these guys expect us to be top 10 level and always be able to beat the Butlers of the world on neutral floors all the time, well then we need to up the ante even more.
I see no negatives from last night other than the L in the column, which matters, but in basketball, it doesn't really predict the future. We have a good, maybe great team.
User name checks outIt just sucks because you start to think this team might be different and a loss like this reminds you so much of losses from past seasons that you feel it’s the same old. Butler is not good. They lost to Austin Peay at home and Austin Peay is terrible. I’m afraid that this team just can’t shoot consistently enough to change the narrative. Probably a 8-10 seed and first round exit. of course that’s better than imploding and missing the tournament which with our luck I wouldn’t rule out either.

Yea. Butler was on friggen fire from the arc. At halftime MSU was dominating points in the paint but Butler was ahead because they could probably have underhanded 3 pointers beginning late in the first half.Butler was hot last night and State was ice cold. It happens.
Butler was picked near the bottom of the Big East but the Big East is also a power conference in basketball so it’s not an ideal loss but it’s not some disaster like some are making out to be. It’s not like losing to Southern last year.
Let me start by saying I'm not a basketball fan, but, I follow it a little and it's the same thing every year. Fans come out expecting us to be top tier because of roster additions, we win the first 5 or 6 against the Sister's of the Convent and then we get a mid major loss and WHAT THE HELL? The rest of the season is spent getting high for a few unexpected wins and low for some unexpected losses. Chill people, it's a long season and all about the games after Januaryand right on que, take an L. We can't handle prosperity. Pitt will be better than 17ing Butler.
Well, when shooters are as open as Butler was last night, they probably had time to underhand them from 3. Playing perimeter defense is STILL required!Yea. Butler was on friggen fire from the arc.
