it diminishes Polk's clout.. I think it helps us in our national search vs Polk hand picking raffo... our program has earned the right to have a proven winner whose been a head coach.... Polk is showing once again he does not have MSU baseball success at the top of his priority list... a lifetime assistant whose not even proven worth at THAT position needs to head coach somewhere else...

personal loyalties should not take precedent over the overall success of the program.. the new young AD showed balls by telling the media he's interested in a national search.. the way the team is playing right now will give him more amunition to do the right thing and not be intimidated by Polk and any of his cigar boy supporters...

Actually, I think things have worked out well in some ways. We had the CWS run last year and the unbelievable SR that showed how much our fans care about baseball. That's a great advertisement to coaches around the country. It also tells me that we probably won't have to do a whole lot of rebuilding.

But by Polk staying and not going out on top allowed us to change AD's, otherwise we would probably be stuck with Raffo for about three years.

So, as bad as it is now, it certainly COULD be worse.

then no one on the current staff should be retained. It is time to pump some new blood in this program. Polk built the program, time for someone new to take us forward.
