I’m sure he’s disappointed with the news about Martin. And I know it’s easy for us to sit here and assume he was a lock. But we can still get him. We just need to make the right hire.

I think Miller or Boynton could still land him. Not sure if Marshall would be able to, but do feel we’d win with him regardless.

I don't really know what the allure would have been to play for Frank, but it seems they had a strong relationship.

It would be nice if he came here, but we probably need to assume there's going to be a fair amount of roster turnover with Frank leaving. I wouldn't base a coaching decision on a single one-and-done player.

I would hope - and all anyone could really ask for is - for the kid to at least wait and see who the new coach is, and decide from there if the combo of USC + new coach is something that appeals to him or not.

We can assume there would be a fair amount of roster turnover regardless of whether or not Frank "left".
And that's part of the problem.

was gonna hit the laugh response until you said Miller or Boynton could get him - I agree. unfortunately, Furman coach is probably our BEST option in this Ray Tanner fiasco.

The problem is that there are 5 SEC Coach openings and we are 4th in line. FL, LSU, Miss St, us, then Mizzou. Tanner needs a grand slam hire, but I agree with you, we are more likely to get a Richey or up-and-comer.

It's been reported that GG actually committed to us on his OV last month and planned to reclassify for 2022. Now that Frank is gone he is giving more consideration to the other schools on his list and the G League.

His dad kind of shot down the reclassification rumors, though not totally. When GG said he would plan to announce a decision in a few weeks, his dad came out and basically said GG was being over exuberant and that no decision would be coming soon. He said if any decision came that soon, it would be GG on his own without his parents consent. They want him to take his time in the process and make the right decision. Hopefully he'd wait to see who we bring in. Either way, he's a one-and-doner.
