With a 3 year guarantee. Man, that's awesome. I didn't think he was ready, and thought it would take him a while to break through. But the kid bet on himself and it paid off for him. Well done young man!! He's certainly making a name for himself.
Happy for him. I can't find the terms of the contract.
It's a win-win. We are having a very successful year w/o him, he is playing great and making good coin. In addition, LP should be able to use this for recruiting. I hope that he and LP are on good terms.
As I said before, he simply came to the wrong place at the wrong time. He seems like a good guy. Last year was probably needed to keep him humble and driven.
Exactly. We've got enough talent in Cola, with enough proximity to CLT/ATL, where we should be EATING! From what I've seen from LP, he gone eat. Just might take him a couple of years to break into that local scene, but I 100% believe he's going to be the one that keeps these guys home.Julian Phillips from Blythewood signed an $8m contract with the bulls this summer. He's from Blythewood and GG from Ridgeview. Same year. Some serious talent in NE Cola.
Details haven't been announced yet.How much was the contract worth?
Has to be a minimum of $8m. Probably a good bit more.Details haven't been announced yet.
Hasn't come out yet, but under the collective bargaining agreement, he would have to start out at least 1.1 million dollars with 15% raises each year from there. I would be shocked if his agent had him sign a minimum deal though.Happy for him. I can't find the terms of the contract.

As I recall, that was part of the reason he reclassified. I think the CBA was set to change after 2024 and would be less attractive for a rookie. That's why my son's teams struggled teams to win conference games. They only made the playoffs when GG left early and Julian left to play in prep school. Then, they ran into Cam Scott in Lexington. Let's just say that didn't end well.Julian Phillips from Blythewood signed an $8m contract with the bulls this summer. He's from Blythewood and GG from Ridgeview. Same year. Yea, crazy talent. Throw Boyles in there also. If LP was here another year, I think he lands Scott. That's why my son's teams struggled teams to win conference games. That would be awful risky. You do what you can do to get that first contract. You've got time to be picky later.I found the details of GG's contract. It is essentially a 3 year deal. They are tacking on his Two-Way Contract for this Year to make it a four year deal. It starts out at 1.8 million next year. Goes to a little over 2.2 million in 25-26 and concludes in 2026-27 at 2.4 million. So, in essence a 3 Year 6.5 Million Dollar deal. I am sure GG wanted the security of a 3 Year Deal and you can't sneeze at this type of money. He could have put some pressure on the Grizzlies though by letting the season play out and letting some other teams throw some money at him as a free agent.
