I got in my very handy time machine and obtained exclusive footage of GG leaving USC for the NBA after his final meeting with Coach Paris.

He parked his car outside of the parking garage for some reason

Honestly, I expected it (regardless of the coach).

Guess it was unavoidable. He needed to stay in high school another year, but the only we get him here was for him to come out early.

Currently projected 15-22. Be interesting to see if he decides to come back and up his stock to be a lottery pick or if he decides that, long term, the financial difference will wash out and just jump this year.

Being picked 15 to 22 is still a major payday. Seems his family do pretty well. But no one is calling them millionaires. Being taken anywhere in the 1st round of life changing money. I think he has shown the potential he needs to. He just needs to get stronger and more mature to be fully ready for the grind the NBA is.

He's more then likely gone but come back another year and could be a top 5 pick. He has showed flashes of greatness but I think we have to remember he's still only 18

He should've played another year at a prep school. He's not physically ready for college much less the NBA. He's a liability on the defensive end and forget about hustle.. he has none.

It's disappointing, but hopefully he values any sort of development. If he does, he will stay.

1st Round 30th pick last year is making 11.2 million over 4 years.
1st Round 20th pick 14.1 million
1st Round 15th pick 18 million
1st Round 10th pick 21.8 million
1st Round 5th pick 32.9 million

He will double his rookie contract if he stays here another year. I AM NOT saying that will happen, but he will be outside the top 10, and probably close to a 20th pick if he goes this year. He will be a top 10 pick in next years draft. 10th pick to 20th pick is the difference in almost 8 million dollars last year. He needs another year to grow. Cam Scott will help. Maybe land another top pick if they see GG stay.

Will it happen, most likely not.

He's gone. The reason he reclassified is to get in this year under the current favorable CBA. Waiting another year defeats the purpose of his reclassification.

I have zero doubt that was his mindset at the time he reclassified, and his moves support that. I also think he would have been happy a year ago if you told him he would be the number 20 overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft after a year at South Carolina. The question is whether or not he really is satisfied with a 15th - 20th pick. I'm sure he is weighing whether or not to risk playing in the NBA for 14 million over 4 years (maybe less if picked after #20), or playing for more than 20 million over that same 4 years.

Another thing to take into account is how much that 14 million will be after taxes, agent fees, and everything else. Regardless, even 11 million dollars is a lot of money for an 18 year old to pass up to spend another year in college. This year in the NBA Rookie Pay Scale, the #20 pick made $2,340,000, and it goes up each year for the next 3 years. The contract can be any where from 80% to 120% under or over that. So, it may be more or less.

Although I hear you and agree with you, I believe his decision has already been made. Maybe he'll change his mind but staying or transferring to play another year isn't a guarantee that his stock will increase. Could hurt him if he doesn't make some changes to his game.

FWIW, in his tiktok rant after one of the games this year he said something about coming back. That was all obviously very emotional though. If I were him I'd probably bolt. For the CBA reasons mentioned. But, also, how much better can we reasonably expect to be next year? Does he really want to come back and play for another bad team?

His body doesn't look NBA-ready to me (but what do I know about the NBA?). Even though he has the size, when I see him play, he still looks like a kid. Not like a lot of other one-and-dones.

Anthony Edwards #1 pick off a 5-13 Georgia team in the SEC gets my pick

Well, that team at least when .500 overall and got to 5 conference wins. We aren't going to be within sniffing distance of .500.

In any case, GG is up there for biggest waste of a one-and-done.

He's an extreme example of the flaws with the one-and-done system. When things weren't going his way, he responded just how you would think a kid who isn't committed to the team and is only here because he has to be would respond.

Don't see the value for that kind of money - but the NBA teams throw money away on a regular basis!

I've seen enough.

He'll never be a success in the NBA. He'll get drafted & get some serious money, but he'll bust out & end up earning his living playing over seas.

Well, we went 3-12 down the stretch, with 3 wins coming over the other worst teams in the conference.
