Some qb has to be brought in for depth, right?
What if he goes down? Doty?I suppose so, if we're buying into the portal.
I'd just prefer to go old school and ride with the true freshman backup you just recruited.
Because he will be a CEO somewhere in the not too distant future; doubt he’s looking nfl.Why would he transfer here just to be the backup?
Some won’t like the take, but loading on small school and Vandy transfers doesn’t give me hope for the future…..

He's not. He's transferring to a school that just lost their 2 year starting QB to the draft, with exactly 1 scholarship QB on the roster who is a RS Freshman. He's coming here to start. He'll either be good enough to be out Sellers, or provide much needed depth. Had a solid 2022. Battled injuries in 2023, but had a few really good games. Why would he transfer here just to be the backup?
Then why not stay at Vanderbilt? I'm not disagreeing with you, just trying to understand someone's thought process. (Maybe he wants to be closer to the beach for a year.)Because he will be a CEO somewhere in the not too distant future; doubt he’s looking nfl.
Are you trying to sell us on a QB with a career 56% completion rate? He's not. No, but we have one QB on roster, one coming in 24. We need depth. Just saying from his standpoint, it's probably the best possible spot. What other SEC program lost their starter and has one QB on the roster? Are you trying to sell us on a QB with a career 56% completion rate?

I don't know what some of you are thinking. We need a backup with some experience. We can't have Sellers as the starter and a true freshman as the backup. Swann would be a great option for a backup.
I had this same thought. However, IMO, the biggest thing that separates these teams most often isn’t really talent, in most cases. It’s depth of said talent. We need both. LolSome won’t like the take, but loading on small school and Vandy transfers doesn’t give me hope for the future…..
The 2 players we lost to the portal that some fans are wringing their hands over (Juice Wells and Mario Anderson) came from these types of schools. Every school has a player or two that will either move up or down based on their performance not their ranking. Some won’t like the take, but loading on small school and Vandy transfers doesn’t give me hope for the future…..
We’re better then Vandy, can win games, no set in stone starter and have a good OC that doesn’t mind slinging the rock. Then why not stay at Vanderbilt? I'm not disagreeing with you, just trying to understand someone's thought process. (Maybe he wants to be closer to the beach for a year.)
UGA took one too...and a WR at that. Kind of crazy they had all these high demand WRs just sitting around. WTF is Clark Lea doing up there??Vanderbilt players, I'm still trying to get a grasp on this.
