March madness is funny. Fans love to see the early round upsets. But they want to see the marquee matchups in the later rounds.
The women playing in a 20k seat arena compared to the men in a 75k seat football stadium plays into it as well. Just not enough seats to meet the demand for the women.

If it's anything like a stadium concert, all you can do is say you were there for the experience and saw what you could on the big screen!
I once saw an NBA exhibition game from the upper deck of the Super Dome. And, like you said, it was just so I could say I saw Michael Jordan play. Because, technically, I could see him, but that's about it. Fortunately, that was a $10 or $15 ticket. I'd hate to pay hundreds of dollars to watch a basketball game from up there.

I know fans on the one had love to see the Cinderella story, but when it comes to ratings, FAU/SDSU can’t even begin to hold a candle to UNC/Duke in the final four. It’s not even in the same galaxy.
I for one, am glad to not see any "Blue Bloods" in the Final Four. I like to see the smaller or lesser known schools make it to the dance.
