Me 1, 2 and GF are taking Irish Jane to Ireland for her 39th birthday next summer. I’ll probably get 2 rounds in. If it were you, where would you do 2 rounds?
cheers rick
ps, I’ll need a travel bag, I’ll pick it up (last 2 weeks in June)

I played Lahinch and Ballybunion {Old Course}........don't think you can do any better than those two. I played other courses, but they were my favorites. Enjoy the Irish...good people.

One round of Guinness and one of Jamison. Those are the two rounds I would do... but I would not stop at 2.

We like Waterville in County Kerry in Southern Ireland. They have a statue of Payne Stewart who liked as one of his warm up courses for the Open. Water on 3 sides of the course.

Royal Portrush North of Belfast. $375 greens fee for the Dunluce course. Rated top 10 in the world and home of the 2025 British Open. The scenery is amazing and you can take a side trip to nearby Bushmills Distillery.

No duffers. You have to prove your handicap is <18.

OK, I will tell you about Ireland
Kathy Ireland very much enjoys the game but, to be honest, she is not very good. That said, when she is out on the course, no one cares. I love the 2nd photo of her putting with Warren Buffett.
As an aside, I saw Kathy once from a distance of maybe 10 feet and she is absolutely stunning. In the last photo she looks very much like she did on the day I saw her (except for the cat).

Loaded question.
Flying into Shannon or Dublin?
2 rounds? You should really rent clubs if possible for only two rounds.
If your near Cork play Old Head and stay a night in Kinsale. Old Head is very expensive but worth play once.
If your staying in the Dublin area play Portmarnock
If your staying near Killarney your close to Waterville to Tralee
Now if your heading to N.Ireland RCD. or Royal Portrush are suppose to be can't miss. I can't talk about

Played Portrush the day after the Open in 19, Castle Rock (where the Euro Tour is playing this week), and Portstewart. All 3 are in Northern Ireland so that may be off your beaten path. The latter 2 won't break your bank but may break your ankles if you're not careful with the hills, especially at Portstewart. Others mentioned above are also great picks from what I've been told by those in the biz.

Enjoyed every course I've played in Ireland. One trip was Shannon to Dublin North, other was Dublin to Shannon south. In addition to those mentioned, I enjoyed County Sligo and Lahinch. Other more inland course was Killarney golf and fishing. Used Irish Golf Tours both times and they were very helpful. Would say Portmarnock and CastleRock were high on my list.

Ireland is a island in the North Atlantic Ocean.....but that's not important right now....
