a sweep would be nice, but at worst I want them to win the last one for the egotistical, delusional little runt. He deserves to win the last one and be carried off the field.

all over again. We went through this same hoopla with Polk in '97. The only difference was then nobody knew what his last game was since we had a home regional we played in. Heck, do we have any guarantee he won't be back again?

until someone else is in the dugout other than Raffo. And I say that because part of the reason Polk wants Raffo is so that he can coach the team vicariously through him.

Polk wants Raffo so he doesn't have to worry about the next coach becoming more legendary.

There are several reasons for Polk wanting Raffo. A lot of people talk about how sad it would be for him to totally disassociate himself from the program, but the reality is it probably would be more of a good thing than bad.

that down deep Polk would like to see our baseball program be successful but not TOO successful. I'd be willing to bet he certainly doesn't want the new coach to do anything that would downplay his achievements. I could certainly see where Polk would view having Raffo take over as a guy that would maintain a "nice" program but likely wouldn't accomplish anything to the magnitude that it might threaten his legacy.

in a way because as well as he treats his own players, he almost neglects guys who played for Gregory. They are just as much a part of MSU as his players- even if their Sunday School attendance was all that great.
