He is doing a good job this year. However, next year he is on schedule to implement his new spread defense...you know with no def. tackles.
I hope beamer encourages him to take that next step.
truthfully though do you see this guy working out as a head ball coach

If Mike Houston couldn’t win there then that tells me it’s a very difficult job.Programs like ECU tend to be the losers in the transfer portal and I doubt they have a large NIL collective.Plus the AAC is a tough league.

Is this a joke? No defensive tackles?

I'll plant my thoroughly irrelevant flag in the camp of:

Pay that man his money!! Keep him here. If we want to change the culture, we have to start rewarding success with $$$$. Headline making $$$$.

Why would he go away from something that is clearly working?

He was a candidate for the Head Coach job at UNC-Charlotte. He badly wants a HC opportunity. Every coach believes HE is the one to turn around a program. Like Pete Lembo, it's only a matter of time before Clayton White is gone for a HC job.

And in the big picture, long run - a Shane Beamer head coaching tree is a mark of success and a recruiting tool to get the best assistants over time. College football assistants will always be a high turnover pool, might as well get the picks of the litter.

Which is why Beamer should have brought in Santucci as DC in waiting instead of letting him go to GT

Ellis Johnson says "hello".

I would think ECU would be shooting higher, though. I mean, Teasley really has one good year as DC. I guess he's a NC native, which seems to be important to some programs for some reason.

He has a good scheme for the personnel. But then he has really good personnel.

White did a good enough job in his first season here to be nominated for the Broyles award as the best assistant coach in the nation.

Prior to coming here, he was DC at, I believe Western Kentucky, where he produced Top 50 defenses. White is a quality football coach and the best coach on our staff, by a country mile.

When (not if) White leaves (because it's virtually certain he won't be Bud Foster 2.0), I wonder if Torrian Gray would get serious consideration for promotion to defensive coordinator. I don't have any inside knowledge as to whether or not he's considered on that ladder.

so does every good coach... which is the main reason the offense is not as far along as the defense. jimmies and Joe's is what makes any coach good
I agree wholeheartedly. That's half my point. But we heard the OL was going to be the best in years due to the personnel.

If they want to pull another Ruffin McNeill, let them do it.

When you look at his coaching resume, I would be surprised at him turning down any semi-major HC job. If I was at ECU I wouldnt be for it though.
