That is true. Same as the byes that go with them. But at 11-2 and beating 4 ranked teams... 3 in the final month should have been good enough to easily get in if such things mattered. But but AQ’s shouldn’t exist
Conference champs are always gonna get a spot. They won't get a bye going forward. You will see them in. But you will see a better computer ranking to allow more deserving at-large teams in. I mean 4 or 5 teams in via champions and still leave 7 at large bids. Only 2 or 3 teams can win it anyway. It's moving to a more basketball rpi system. But champions allow for the possible Cinderella runs. Rare but in football a team could win 1 or 2. No commissioner will vote to give up thier champions bid because a Conference could have a bad year and be left out. They will not forfeit the 4 million payout. That payout doesn't get split the team that goes gets it all.But but AQ’s shouldn’t exist
Still a fact.But but AQ’s shouldn’t exist
Your logic is sound but your math is flawed...... there's only 5 at large bids in reality...... 6 spots if Ohio St wins their conference.... that frees up a spot...Conference champs are always gonna get a spot. On the other hand...Ohio State up on Oregon 31-0 in the first half at Pasadena.Texas converts a 4th and 13 to stay alive and go into Double OT. This is the magic that the playoffs can bring.
I didn't have a dog in the fight but it looked like there was a case to be made where Skattebo committed 2 OPIs and a facemask on the long pass play to him where they called DPI and defensive facemasking. Would have resulted in offsetting fouls and a do-over.I can’t find where ONE person here has commented on the obvious targeting that very well may have ended with Texas losing in regulation.
Right now I'm wondering if OSU isn't gonna hang 60 on Oregon in a shutout. lol
I think that, had it gone the other way, Texas would have crapped the bed after being up 24-8 in the fourth.ASU looked like us out there at the end. 100% snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Completely crapped the bed. Unbelievable.
Put the computers to work to settle both participants and seeding. Let the computers determine the fitness of everyone in there.Conference champs are always gonna get a spot. I agree. It’s been poor across most games. That was just a clear “to me” targeting call on Texas that was reviewed and waived off. It’s hard to tell what the dang rules are anymore when the calls are so inconsistent. I didn’t have a dog in the fight either. I just love football (at least as I remember it). I won’t even get started about our game. It would sound like the blame game when we could’ve made adjustments to win comfortably.I didn't have a dog in the fight but it looked like there was a case to be made where Skattebo committed 2 OPIs and a facemask on the long pass play to him where they called DPI and defensive facemasking. Seen a lot of curious officiating in the post-season... continuing a season-long trend.
Oregon clearly didn’t belong in the CFP or just doesn’t want to be there.Do I hear an even hunnert?
Well, 34-0 now. Those Oregon fans still have time to get the Early Bird specials out on the West Coast - those who still have an appetite. On the other hand...Ohio State up on Oregon 31-0 in the first half at Pasadena.
Fair point.I think that, had it gone the other way, Texas would have crapped the bed after being up 24-8 in the fourth.

No 5 conference champs. 7 at large. If Notre Dame is high enough in tbe ranking they get a spot. The spot to highest rated non power conference is that 5th spot. Also those Luckeyes are about to your national champions. No one not UGA is beating them. Since Michigan they are playing up to thier own talent. ScaryYour logic is sound but your math is flawed...... there's only 5 at large bids in reality...... 6 spots if Ohio St wins their conference.... that frees up a spot...
You're forgetting about why they expanded to 12 teams in the first place....... to ensure Noodle Lame and the Ohio St. Luckeyes a spot....regardless of their record.
Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t it our SEC commissioner that wanted 12 spots so we could get 4 or more teams in? Maybe the same for B1G? Then four for everyone else?Your logic is sound but your math is flawed...... there's only 5 at large bids in reality...... 6 spots if Ohio St wins their conference.... that frees up a spot...

You missed my point..... Noodle Lame could lose 492 games in a row and still be ranked top 10. It's absurd. I have no idea why the media and talking heads slobber all over them every year. They play absolutely nobody. Scary
No idea. I just know there is a national conspiracy to slobber all over Noodle Lame every single year, even though they play absolutely nobody.Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t it our SEC commissioner that wanted 12 spots so we could get 4 or more teams in? Maybe the same for B1G? Then four for everyone else?
There was pressure to get Bama in too but they screwed it up losing to Vandy and a bad Sooners team. We would never get that kind of consideration. No idea. I just know there is a national conspiracy to slobber all over Noodle Lame every single year, even though they play absolutely nobody.
We just got beat by Illinois. You are making yourself look stupidThat is true. Same as the byes that go with them. But at 11-2 and beating 4 ranked teams... 3 in the final month should have been good enough to easily get in if such things mattered.
If you say so but the conferences, every single one of them, disagree.Still a fact.
We just got beat by Illinois. You are making yourself look stupid
They've got the ball now to start the second half. If they could score again, then the complexion changes a little - at least for awhile.Fair point.
RE: OSU - Oregon , you know that proverbial "Buzz saw" ?? I'm pretty sure Oregon found it......![]()
I never said anything about us. Stay on topic. We just got beat by Illinois. You are making yourself look stupid
"About right" is correct. But they can get it completely correct if conference nut-fluffing is discontinued and digital methodologies are adopted. When you look back on it, the committee got the selections about right. You just shouldn't have a Mountain West Team as a #3 seed. Seed them at #11 or #12 and let them prove it. The SEC teams didn't really make themselves look too good in Bowl Season. So, what are we talking about. Sellers and our program have a bright future
, but I never felt comfortable that we were quite there yet.
